IMHO.....GSS's easily have to be the most coveted putters of any putter HO. :lol: I don't how many times I've watched Ebay auctions on them end and just not have the nutz to pull the trigger on them. I keep thinking that even if I did have one, I couldn't bear to take it out on the course.

That beautiful putter right there is the Holy Grail of putters. One day maybe the wife will let me spend thousands to get one.

They're nice for sure. Can someone answer me this though... what's makes them different enough from any OTR Newport 2 for the money you'd have to spend? Is the stamping worth an extra $2700? Not trying to start a war here I just honestly don't know much about these as I have never really gotten into the whole circle t, tour issue, etc. thing.

I am going on a limb,but I think there are a couple reasons these putters are so much. It is a full GSS head( better and a more accurate feel). Most if not all are Stainless steel now. The second would be its a tour issue putter. Which means the only way you get one,is be on the tour,or buy one from someone here or on ebay. Scotty just doesn't make tour issues for just anyone. I'll even add a third reason,and it is just my opinion. People always want what the tour guys play. Maybe thinking they will game just like the big boys. To answer your overall question. Its rare,hard to find,so therefore the price is always high for something not made in a lot of quantity. Supply and demand, so yeah its worth 2700.

GSS is German Stainless Steel. It is suppose to be better than Stainless Steel(as per feel,and responsiveness, which is key in putting). Performance reasons would be that right there, but overall it is just like you said it is a collectors piece,and bragging rights. But,and this is a big but. Some do purchase these and game them. I mean the top players in the world game these, so they must have good performance and feel needed in putting. I mean, there is a difference between this and a 250 putter. Just like there is a difference in the Mercedes I drive,than a Toyota.

Last thing to add and it is a big one. TIGER games a GSS Scotty Cameron. Well use to before he switched to the current Method 3. So that helps price and people wanting them.

That makes sense I suppose. Although I see a much bigger difference in perform between the cars you mentioned and the putters. I actually almost used that as an example but the more I though about it the more I felt like you get a lot more for your money with respect to cars than you would a GSS Cameron compared to, say, a Studio Stainless, which in my opinion was the best stainless retail Cameron he ever made. But like the Shamwow guys says, "It was made in Germany and you know the German's always make good stuff" LOL.

If you look at German stainless and any other stainless chemically, they are exact. They do claim a totally different feel, but that would be hard to prove because of the exact chemical composition. They are beautiful putters though.
