Looking 4 a good teacher

I'm a mediocre player who can get around the course and break 100 but I want to take my game to the next level and become a scratch player or better in the near future. I realize that in order to do that I have to find a quality instructor to stick with. The three I've tried so far have given me tips that have worked for a moment but not in the long run. The latest swing change (stand closer to the ball) had me shanking every club in the bag and I ended up hanging up the sticks for awhile. I'm thinking about giving the guys at River Park Golf Center a shot but am open to any suggestions. I've also heard great things about Tommy Masters but dont want to wait 3 months for a lesson. If you guys could tell me what your experiences have been like with Fresno instructors and if you feel like you made a sound investment it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. :rolleyes:

I know Mike Firpo is top shelf.

 

Chris Doos is also great. I know a handful of guys who have nothing but good things to say about him too.

tommy masters is an awesome awesome teacher, he believes in solid fundamentals. it was amazing when i went to tommy he had me doing 9 to 3 drills like slicefixer likes it, he is 100 an hour but its worth it, all video, he prints out before and after and writes down on each view how you can analyze and fix the difference between the two, its worth it, go to his website, get his number and enjoy

Anyone done the 30 minute swing analysis at Riverbend? I think it would be pretty neat to try out all of that body motion and swing analyzing software.

I haven't, but if Schy is still doing that, and Orr recommends him, I'd at least check him out. I know Masters has a great reputation and helped build Whatney's swing before he went with Harmon. He also is one heck of a nice guy. Firpo is also nice and the packages at Riverside are very affordable.

I haven't worked with any of these guys simply because I am working on a S&T swing and am not sure if anyone in the area knows much about it at all and don't want someone to try and "fix" my "reverse pivot" or something else.
