I think I found the secret to golf...

KFC famous bowls
As a young junior golfer, I used to think that there was some magic "it" that all good players either knew or did and as soon as I learned how or what that was, I would be able to compete at any level. So over the last 15 or so years as I progressed from a mediocre junior golfer to an average collegiate player and now a decent local chopper, I came to the conclusion that there is no "it" & there is no magic formula to playing well. Just go out and play and let the chips fall where they may is how I play golf. I don't get worked up for tournaments or rounds at nifty courses (Ok maybe a little) but the majority of my golf is played without aspirations, goals, dreams or delusions of grandeur, I just go out and play. This afternoon I realized that everything I came to know about golf (and life for that matter) is wrong. En route to the course this afternoon I stopped at a drive through KFC and ordered a "Famous Bowl." Now if you don't know what a famous bowl is,
to the best description I can find. Anyways, I pull up to the course and saw three guys walking towards the first tee so I decide to join them and I'll just eat the bucket of dispair on the course. So I pay for my round and hustle down to the first tee where I join the threesome and feather a three iron out there with my shoes still untied. After tying my shoes and taking a sip from my famous bowl, I stripe an 8 iron from 160 and hit the flag. The next hole as I eat my way into cardiac arrest, I dunk my second shot for eagle to get to three under for two holes. I finished my bowl on the way to the third tee and low and behold without my trusty famous bowl, I hook one into the trees and make double. The rest of the round I made nothing but pars except for a birdie on the last hole to shoot two under. Currently I am debating whether or not to wear a beer helmet with straws so I can double barrel two famous bowls as I play or If I should just hire a caddy to follow me around the course with multiple buckets so I can have a constant supply of ammo. Honestly, how hard can the boba slam be?

That's one funny post right there !!!

But you better hurry up and get on the phone with KFC before Tim Herron beats you to the sponsorship deal :) Funny thing is I've had similar well not a -3 start but still pretty good results with a McDonald's Mcgriddle and large coke right before Tee Time before.

You have to draw the line somewhere and I'd rather not capture the "magic" if I have to eat my food mixed in a bowl like a dog. I'm not a food snob...I'll eat a hot dog at the turn and I enjoy an occasional fast food burger but this is way over the top. What the hell is the world coming to! :D

Guys, you need to start thinking outside the box here. As suggested above, get the ingrediants into a liquid form, then have one of those I.V. on wheels rolling around with you. Just make sure the little wheels don't mark up the greens. Make sure that you win the Slam in 2010, bacause you'll be gone by 2011. Good luck.

My secret was when I "discovered" these:

Nothing improves my game, especially when I have an early tee time, than when I stop by mickeyD's on the way to the course, and have two of these with my large coffee.

I think the key is that I go over my RDA of sodium which improves my nervous system functionality....

I got a similar story.

Played 18 in the morning and shot 75 (4 over), and hit it really quite poorly.

Got in clubhouse had massive lunch and a pint of Beer (Carlsberg). New club pro asked if I fancied playing some holes. Beat him 4&3 through 9 after shooting a 31 front nine (-4 under). Now I like to have a little half of Carlsberg before a round to get the magic back.

I've played my best golf after several beers. Bombing drives, nearly holing 8-irons, putting the lights out. Problem is, with alcohol there is a fine line between "relaxed" and "blitzed" and there is no going back once you've crossed over.

On the other hand, Boba's Famous Bowl heart attack probably won't affect him until after long his round, maybe not even for several years. Could he win twenty majors? Hell, why not thirty? What could go wrong?

Do I need a 4-iron?
