so what anyway? He doesn't appear to be that tall so I think that is totally plausible. I play MP-30 Mizuno's which are about 1-2 degrees flat of standard at stock because that is what's right for me... I don't see why this is such a newsflash.

 

Anyone remember Ian Woosnam? Guy was like what -- 5'4" -- how about Corey Pavin...

 

Also, just because his swing plane is flat doesn't necessarily mean he's not coming in at a steep angle... Anyway, not all athletes are made the same, and every swing is different, even at impact (angle that is), so who cares if he's 8 degrees flat -- sorry, just don't see the shock and awe here...

 

and if your post is more in the vein that he's misrepresenting his specs -- well good God, he definitely wouldn't be the first...

He could be std lie angle on the irons but makes his irons play flat by gripping down on the club by 3inches ( effective 6flat ) because he learned to play by using his father's stock irons.

+1. Choking down on the irons make them play flatter than they are when used at full length. I used to do this when I was a kid before all this customization became accessable to the avg joe.

They seem to only 1* stronger for 3,4,6,7,8,9 and 1/2 stornger on the PW. Checking from the mike website.

Yeah. He's about as much 5'10 as I am 7 feet. And I'm not 7 feet ;) He's probably more like 5'7 or at most 5'8 I'd say. Dude is not even close to 5'10.

I got to play with AK back in college quite a few times. I'm right at 6' tall and he's at least 4" shorter than I am. That being said he still outdrove me by 30 yards. And that was when I hit it good!

I know he likes his irons longer then standard, and visually his swing appears upright so I suspect they his irons are upright.

 

PS, based on the img shown earlier I was close. People don't realize just how jacked pro lofts are which contributes to their distances. Some of his irons are 1-2* stronger then mine.

To add, a number of pros (e.g. Tiger) actually have WEAKER lofts (I think Tiger's 9I is the loft of a stock PW) than standard and still get the ball way out there....

Somewhere else on this site I saw his lengths which are actually shorter than today's "standard." His stock 5 iron I believe is 37.5".

Cool that someone posted his specs, I thought for sure they would be flatter than that based on his small stature but the impact position is what matters.

 

Another pro who is pretty darn short and has a very diff swing, Ryan Moore, actually was specced green dots when he was with Ping (2* up I beleive). Take a look at his super low hands at address and this swing, I would never have thought upright lies fro him.
