Finally!!! Project X Graphite shaft is coming to town.

Recommended Posts

One of the most sought after shaft lately for spin killer
Hi Guys !!!

Finally, They are coming in real soon to a Tour Concept near you.

As you know, this shaft has been storming the tour for a while by now. The design of this shaft is definitely base on the PX steel shaft character, Lift the ball up fairly easy with flat ball flight with low spin for better carry and roll.

IMO, definitely one of the best spin killer at the moment. Of course certain model will do a better job than others. With a solid Tour players validation, they are ready, they are very confident to launch this products for the market who are looking for spin reduction on their shots.

The graphics below are the final graphic for TOUR ONLY, The softer retail version will be slightly different and launch late 2009.

They have 7 different specs on the TOUR woods and 3 on the TOUR hybrid. At this time will be exclusive for Tour Concept dealers only. MSRP for the woods are $349 and $199 on hybrid. The specs picture below are ONLY for their Tour PROTOTYPE and I've included the final Tour Only specs too.

I won't talk to deep in the technology as most of you don't need it anyway, but i will chime in if there is any legitimate questions base on the info i got.

One thing I can guaranty you is that if you got the right fitting for the right shaft, this shaft will perform. "Spin Killer" is an under rated name IMO. I will do more testing for sure. I have two of the hybrid shafts (alternate due to shot tendency) in my bag as we speaks which I love due to very predictable shots pattern. 6B6 is the next shaft testing that I think will be a perfect match for my type of swing. The A series is a bit to much for me. I can only handle it on my GOOD days, so it won't be my highest % shots if i play with the A series.

OK now, It's time to hear it from you guys! I know some of you have tried them...it would be nice to have a fair honest review from you too. Let's hear them! :)

Enjoy!

Joe

Joe,

Have you heard any possibility of a 10 series wood shaft with an X-stiff tip? I love the shafts in my driver and hybrid, but didn't like the stiff tip of the 6A4 or 7A3 compared to the X-stiff tip of the 8A4. I'd really prefer the same tip in a 100g shaft for my FW.

If I'm reading this correctly, the Hybrid shaft that is the equivalent to a Project X 6.0 iron shaft is the HD1. Is that the only weight available? 92 grams?

Also, is it available in a .350 tip?

10A2 is plenty of tip stiffness, It was design for the MAN. :)

Just build a little longer at first to give room for tipping if needed.

Do not compare graphite and steel...I don't think it'll play the same, although design for a similar performance character.

What ever on the list above are the available after market. After a lot of testing and demo, they've decided to produce 7 woods and 3 HB shafts.

I'll second that. I use PX 7.0 in my irons and have a HB6 in my hybrid. VERY different feel between the two. The HB6 has much more responsiveness in the tip than the iron, even though they are the "same" flex.

The last number in the code is an internal iteration number and has nothing to do with the spec or playability of the shaft. There were many, many prototypes created during the testing period and we used those codes to know what version someone was testing in case we needed to go back to it.

The 10A2 actually has a stiffer tip deflection than 8A4, so you should give it a shot.

I would love a 10A2. Currently rocking a PM902X tipped in the driver. Lowering the spin would help a ton!!!

Any idea on how the HC1 would compare to a 904HB? I really want to try one of these out.

Hey joe how would this shaft compare to the wb.I use the 83x wb and still get to much spin. Thanks robert

PX shaft has a firmer fee to it, especially on the A and B series, thus lower spin rate...again especially on the A series. Not by much but definitely there.Grip it and rip it type of swing will more likely like these shaft IMO.

904HB is more comparable to the A and/or B series IMO.

So would the HC1 launch a bit higher then? Do you have these already?

Yes. The retail part will come 5.0-7.0. AS with the PX irons there is nothing softer than 5.0.

Retail part will be available around January 2010.
