Well since the VR Tour driver is going to have a PX shaft in it can I ask you guys to help me pick which one I should choose? I have a SS of 100-103 and am pretty smooth. Will be cutting the shaft down to play to 44.5 inches also. I tend to hit the ball pretty high also. I was going to get the STR8 version but have heard nice things about the PX shafts so figured I would just get the tour version.

Installed a 8A4 in my J33r 460 and finally was able to get onto a good LM. Last year my driver setup was launching 13* with 4100+ rpm. The spin would still be high at lower launch angles. Now, I'm launching 10-11* with 1900-2300 rpm's. My ss is 118-125. In terms of spin reduction, this series of shafts are the REAL DEAL! Spin Killer is an understatement!

God Bless

I use PX 6.0 non-flighted in my irons. What PX graphite shaft would you guys recommend for replacing my 1W, 3W, and 2-Hybrid? I tend to be a slicer, and I know it's 99% due to my swing, but of the available shafts/weights/tip-stiffness, what PX graphites would help me reduce the slice?

I heard that the graphite shafts play a bit softer than the iron shafts, so going with 6.5 or 7.0 seems recommended, sticking to a stiff tip vs. a mid-tip. I also think going with a mid, rather than low, shaft weight might also help my tempo to reduce slice. Is any of this accurate?

Thank you.

You're comparing apples to oranges with the irons versus the woods as far as flex designation. The best advice is to get fit for this shaft in your driver/ 3 wood to maximize your enjoyment and "fun factor". There are several variables that come into play with this shaft. It's definitely not a "slap and go" install. However, the hybrid shaft virtually mirrors the iron shafts.

The 2 shafts I currently game are the F7M2 LTD X tipped 5/8 and play's to 44 1/2 and the Attas 7x tipped 1" also 44 1/2,which PX shaft would I want to try?
[/quote]

Try Project X-7A3. You may not need to tip it, as it will play slightly firmer than the F7M2 LTD.

Stiff V2 76g in my 909, 106-110mph speed which would be similar? The 6.5 driver?

Also had a Grafalloy Blue Stiff that i loved more than my current V2 to be honest, does it play similar?

If I were you, I'd go with the 7B3 (6.5) if you are closer to 110 than 106. I don't know how it will differ than the Blue, other than more weight and maybe a little higher launch, but it will spin MUCH less than the V2.

On another note, how does the 6B7 play compared to other shafts, specifically the Axivcore Red? I just ordered one from PX.. thanks!

Stage,

Have you had the opportunity to try the Tp7HD from Matrix? How would it compare to the 7A3 from PX? I am currently playing a 279CPM untipped HDV (retail) TP7HD and I might take the PX route next year since it is offered by Titleist and mostly because of the lower price. I love the TP7HD but I've heard great things about the 7A3.

What do you think?

Thanks

IMO - you can't beat the tp7hd PERIOD. there are lots of good shafts out there, but for me there has only been one shaft that has clearly taken the cake. played the x7a3 for a while - am now gaming the x8a4. both good shafts - in fact love the x8a4, but it doesn't quite measure up to the tp7hd. mine got taken and haven't been able to spend the money to replace it yet.

What where the differences between the 7A3 and the Tp7HD? What flex did you had and how were they tipped?

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I doubt that I'll be able to afford another Tp7Hd for next year because even know I had trade lots of stuff with the seller, I still paid 500$ for it. And with the new 910 series from Titleist, I don't know if I'll be able to pull the TP7HD and install it in the new adapters whereas the 7A3 is offered as a custom option by Titleist.
Thanks

Guys
Hit the club pro's 46" SF 9.5 with a 6c12. Super high. SS 104 - 107. Gamer is a Nickent "T" TSpec 10.2 [actual] at 44" Devotion 6 [04] Lasers. Just got a MP 600 head 10.5 and want to put a PX retail in at 45". I am thinking 6.0 but am being told by fitter the 6c12 is very different, especially the tip. Royal Precision is iffy and won't commit to the difference. Tell me experts, 6C12 or 6.0, is there a difference??? Thanks

Have both in a ST head....they feel close, but yes something seems slightly different about them. My guess the fitter is saying that the 6C12 is more stiff in the tip......not sure if I feel this. I feel like the 6C12 loads a bit more and has more kick at impact. Really, not enough PT for the 6C12 as the 6.0 has ben a monster for the most part.

I also have an Oban Devo 6 and it to has been awesome...I have it in my ST and a SP TP, both 8.5's. I do not hit the Devo SF TP high at all.

I had heard that the C612 and 6.0 were the same shaft. I've since been told, and read here, that they are different. The tip section on the 6.0 is supposedly mid-stiff and the C612 is very stiff. I've got a C612 tipped one inch in my 9015d and it's a much lower spinning shaft than a untipped Rombax 6Z08, which itself is one of the lowest spinning shafts out there.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes it is a "stiffer tip" message, but the manufacturer when asked just danced. Royal P also said not to tip the retail shafts. Frankly for a net $160 more I will look for alternatives.

My concern now is what a softer tip[6.0 versus 6C12] on a heavier head, MP 600 is 203-204 g I believe. will compare to the rocket like launch of the c12 on the SF. I have been playing for many years and never have I hit a ball that high before.

Why do let the marketing guys make it so difficult?
