My final swing with Golftec

2 years later, here is where I am

Title pretty much says it all. I have been working with Golftec for 2 years, and today I took my final lesson. I am going to a new instructor in a few weeks to see where he takes me. I have been working a bit with iteachgolf as well, and he as been a great help to me. Just wanted to get some thoughts on my final swing.

Swing looks pretty damn good. You hitting golf balls or you going bungee jumping LOL.

looks good... compact, solid, good rotation.. man if you can swing with that thing on... you should do great outside.

Head is definitely more centered and not hanging back as bad as you used to. Swing plane is a lot better, less laid off and not as underneath. Getting better and I'm sure it will continue to get better with time.

good to hear that you are finding a new coach. hopefully its at a full grass range where you can see immediate results of your swing instead of hitting into the net.

Agreed. I kinda like the indoor thing now. It helps you concentrate on the swing rather than the results. If the swing is where it needs to be, the results will be there. I'm not dogging GolfTEC at all, I just feel ready for a change. I may go back again at some point.

Well I would say that the person going to GolfTEC would have to be really committed to changing the swing. I know it would be tough for some students to take on a new swing indoors and when they go to work on it they are not hitting it as solid with the trajectory they thought they were hitting.

Lower than yours. I hit 14 GIR yesterday and shot 69.

 

EDIT: 14 GIR and 9 FIR. 1.7 putts per hole. 1 bogey.

What instructor are you going to switch to?

 

Neil Wilkins. He uses the K-Vest, which is very similar to the GolfTEC harness. GolfTEC actually sued the makers of the K-Vest because they had patents that the K-Vest broke. I believe 3 of the top 5 instructors currently use the K-Vest, and TPI does as well.

Yeah, Baby Cheetah needs a little less hip bend at times.

Nice swing, I guess Golf Tec might have some merits if you wish to dish out big $$$ for two years. I tired their deal and was really turned off by the business model, I learned more and made more progress in two 45 min. lessons from a pro at the range than 12 lessons at Golf Tec. To me Golf Tec does nothing but dangle a carrot in front of you and try to rebuild your swing and suck money out of you with all the gizmos, clubs, etc. etc. IMO they dont want you to progress very quickly so you can keep taking a lesson a week for two years. JMO.

It just depends on your goals and what your trying to acheive.. as well as how fast you want to acheive them.

That picture is a good foot after impact. He does need to work on staying centered and not translating backswards but his shaft leans forward at impact.

TM, your grip looks as strong as mine...kinda hard to see though and could be the angle. With your HC, I am sure you know how to move the ball around, but what is your natural shape? I see an instructor once a week and have been trying to learn how to hit a consistent fade for a while, really been struggling with it.

 

I think your swing looks very nice btw.
