She's 35¼", 355g and custom made to my specs. I can't recommend Kevin enough as he's made the best putter I've ever seen.

I remember putting with one of his putters back in the late 90's. His shop is here in my hometown but Ive never been down there.

 

I was never 100% into the plumbers neck design he has compared to Byron or Camerons... BUt the feel and designs are solid.

 

What is the face technology? How is it applied?

Even if you don't like plumbers necks, KB offers a slant neck that looks really solid. Being a fan of plumbers necks, I really believe these are some of the best putters ever made. I've tried 009's and other GSS Camerons & this is by far the best feeling putter I have ever rolled. Usually stainless putters have a bit of a click due to the high nickel content, but the face technology called "pyramids" sink into the cover and change the sound dramatically. Not only is the feel greatly enhanced, but the roll they produce is phenomenal. According to Kevin, this was the only putter that produced a better roll than the Rossa AGSI grooves during a test TMAG was conducting. It seems that the ball never skids, even on long putts.

That is one sweet looking putter man. I don't know much about Burns at all. Can you say about how much he charges? Does he have OTR putters or only go the custom route? Thanks.

Thanks, I really love the way it looks. He usually offers a satin finish, however this one is has a "Bling" finish named after a mutual friend of ours, who unfortunately passed away last winter. The putters go for around $499 a pop & from what KB's told me, he's going for a custom market where every putter is made to order. For retailers, he has a fitting kiosk and several putters to try out, but he's looking to reduce overhead at retail locations. If you know your specs, you can order them at kbputters.com.

Can I request a closer shot of the "pyramid" milling? I was never really sold on that type of milling until I gamed a fit face. I want to see what the subtle differences are between designers.

Yea I agree he makes some nicce flatsticks. What I was getting at was the rounded angle of the plumbers neck from the hosel... I like it more rigid. But thats such a small thing I guess....heheheh

 

How is that face produced? Its not a milling is it? It looks interesting.

Sure, I'll take a few shots in the morning. The indoor shots aren't coming out as clear as I'd like.

It's all 100% milled from a single block of steel. I'm not sure as to how he produces the face texture, but the pyramids are cut in some kind of interlocking pattern.

Im thinking this is done with a laser. I think its laser etching. I have seen it before on some older putters... Its solid for someone who has a consistent stroke. I noticed with this "rough" face that if you hit a short putt with a lot of inside out or outside in the face might produce some side spin. Aserta Monster and a company called Photon started the laser groove thing I beleive.

 

Its awsome to see Kevin Burns new stuff. Its a shame he isnt bigger here in the US.

It would be interesting to hear from KB himself what technology is being utilized to acheive this.

He may be on to something.

 

The putters before this with the ROUGH face did make the feel quite nice.

 

There isnt anything on the website regarding it but I would love to hear more.
