With all the technology available (wireless internet, laptops, Blackberry / iPhone, etc) it's virtually impossible to be unreachable for that long unless you want to be or something tragic has happened. Unless there is some tragic story, he has no excuse for lack of communication.

There's a thread about him on Puttertalk. Here's the OP:

 

"After much agonizing over this experience with a member of this and other forums, and after consulting with the moderator of this forum, I have decided to go public with my experience with this forum member, Deerslayer.

 

I contacted Deerslayer in May about what he might be able to do regarding a face insert for an XG9 putter I intended on buying used from another forum member. Deerslayer (Breck Nolen) responded on May 5 that he could do what I requested, gave me a price and said 'My turnaround right now is one week.'

 

I subsequently purchased the used putter and had him ship it directly to Deerslayer. On May 14 Breck indicated that he had an emergency in the family (death of his older brother) and I indicated not to worry that family came first.

 

On May 31 he indicated that the work was done and just needed to know the color of the paint fill. That was given to him and on June 1 I heard confirmation about the paint fill. I requested that he go ahead and send me a paypal money request for the amount I owed him.

 

I didn't hear from him again until June 18 when he indicated he had been out of town with his son in tournaments. I heard from him again that he needed my address. I sent that to him at once and again requested that he send a paypal money request to get this finished.

 

I have not heard anything else from him, yet I send ever email with receipt turned on and know he has seen those emails. I have requested that he send me the putter at once and still no reply. I then told him I have no alternative but to post on the various forums he is a member of my experience with him. I did this in hopes that would get him to respond to me. He apparently does not care about his reputation.

 

Others may have had good experiences with him but this has been very frustrating as I am willing to pay for work done and just want my putter now.

 

Take this as a warning if you intend to use him for any work done. I know he does beautiful work as we have all seen it. I just can't believe he would ignore someone's repeated attempts to finalize this transaction and put his reputation at jeopardy.

 

I am going to lock this topic as any further questions should be directed to me by private messages and not in public. He has the opportunity to refute this here if he so desires."

Dang Will, sorry to hear about your putter. I cant believe deerslayer would pull something like this without some sort of tragedy in his life. I really hope it all works out for you and you get that putter back. I also hope everythings ok with deerslayer. doesnt seam like him to go awol from the boards this long. Btw will the new putter is unreal great pickup.

Thanks Matt (it is Matt right?). I know he is busy with Stratton's tournaments this time of year, but it doesn't take long to answer the phone or send an email. No way he is that busy. When I last spoke with him, he said it would be in the mail the next day. The fact that he has had someone else's putter for 60 days is troubling.

Yup matt is right. I should have stated i completley agree with you on this way too long to go without any word from him. And you have every right to do what you are doing. And if he is just busy with Stratton there is no excuse for the lack of communication. LOL. The fact that people (I do it all the time too) can post from cell phones just further adds to my frustration. But that is neither here nor there I suppose. When I did last speak to him, he told me he was very busy with Stratton's tournaments. But that was it. He didn't mention anything else.

 

I'll update tomorrow when I talk to his wife, well if she answers the phone.

The only person named in this post might not have been the person involved in the OP's situation, but considering the number of people on this board alone who he has screwed, I would not call him innocent.

 

There was another post with a name in it, and I clicked the Violation button to have it deleted.

 

I guess you are talking about the name I mentioned? That guy already has a couple of threads about the people he's ripped off. No need to have the name deleted.

He emailed me this morning and said he is in Mexico and that my putter should have shipped. I hate that it had to come to this, but the lack of communication for 2 weeks was inexcusable.

He signed into Puttertalk like June 27th or 28th so 2 weeks without an Email is truly unacceptable, he was clearly able to get online.

I wouldn't say the issue is done for several reasons.

 

1. He lied about when the putter was originally going to ship.

2. He ducked and dodged all attempted communication from several people for a long time.

3. He obviously was online during the time he wouldn't return calls or emails(since he shows being online on puttertalk.com).

4. William hasn't actually received his putter to his satisfaction.

 

So I don't think its anywhere close to being done. This wasn't just happening to one person. This wasn't a fluke. Deerslayer didn't do the right thing no matter how you look at it. I personally wouldn't deal with anyone who does business this way.

No one here is disputing that he may have a reason for what happened. However it takes literally 5 minutes to send an email that says Hey Will I got extremely busy and will have your putter a few extra weeks. Everyone know will has enough putters to get him by ;). However the lack of communication and the value of this putter alone would make anyone nervous if the person that had it did not respond to you for weeks

Did you read Kevin's post above yours before posting? He had time to log in to PutterTalk, but not to return my phone calls or emails? And I shared his side of the story. He is traveling around with his son for golf tournaments. He told me I would have it back a certain day, and it didn't happen. I spoke with him the day before it was allegedly going to ship, and that was the last time I heard from him.

I just hope you get your stick back. When your dealing with something that valuable and personal to you such as a Gamer, you have every right to be a junkyard dog to get it back. Good luck!

Don't blame you for the action you took on this forum. Hopefully it will turn out for the better. I wish Deerslayer would get on here and explain why he can't answer emails or ship putters in a reasonable time period. I do believe the fact that he hasn't logged into this site since June and remains silent proves beyond a doubt his guilt.

This isn't the first time something like this has happened to Will by him either.. Will's just too nice to post.. I hope you get that thing back safely.. I really want to see how it turned out.
