Putter question for GolfWRX members........

Please Help Scratch Golf with our First Run of putters!

Scratch putters are coming very soon! (I know, I sound like a broken record but we are almost there)

We have our first run in production....

My question to you guys is,

If we offered the following head styles for sale retail what would you want, what metal would you want it made from and what kind of neck would you want on it?

No hints on the putters other than each one even the retails runs will be made 100% from a block by one person from start to finish in his shop here in the USA mostly by hand. (Depending on the model there may be some rough CNC work but it will be done one at a time to specific size and weights)

1) Rounded Heel-Toe Weighted (historically most popular design)
2) Boxier Heel-Toe Weighted
3) Longer front to back Heel - Toe Weighted
4) "Mini" Heel - Toe Weighted
5) Mallet
6) Heel Shafted Blade
7) Traditional "Pintail" Blade

For me, it is a boxier type Answer with a plumbers neck in ss.

I am interested if you are going to incorporate any type of signature milling or possibly an insert.

I think you guys will really like the milling we are using. It is different than anything anyone else is using and is very distinctive while remaining simple and clean looking.

All the Anser style heads are appealing to me in stainless with plumber's neck and mid-slant options. Also a center shaft option in these.

When are you going to announce who is making the putters? Also, what is the price point going to be again on the retail line and what type of finishes will be available?

Stainless steel.

Double bend shaft with half-shaft offset (like Cameron Squareback) or center shaft.

We will announce who is making the putters when we make the official announcement.

We are looking at @ $399 for the retail putters in 303 SS or 1018 CS. Other metals will be slightly more.

We plan to offer quite a few different finishes including 3X Black, Antique, Copper Plated, Nickel Plated and Satin on the Carbon Steel and Black, Satin, Brushed and Torched for the Stainless Steel.

Small mallet or fast back center shaft with a sight line. SS with torched finish or antique finish on carbon would be cool, white paint fill and white large Iomic grip. Oooooh, I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it!

The first run will be 100 putters and each one will be individually numbered 1/100, 2/100, 3/100 etc.

As soon as we have 50 of them done (remember most of the work is done by hand) we will be making the official announcement and introduction. In the meantime we are also working with Tour Pros on the PGA, Nationwide and LPGA Tours and will have quite a few of these in play by the end of the year. Tour players customs will be in players hands in the next couple weeks so start looking for them in bags around then.

Options 1 and 2. I'd like them in SS or Double Aged Stainless. Most def. a plumbers neck Myself I am partial to torched blue and purple.

Other than Carbon and Stainless Steel we are going to be offering a limited amount of Copper, Aluminum Bronze and Damascus Steel pieces.

Custom putters will also be available and we should be able to get pretty much any material that anyone wants if you dont mind paying for the block.

I honestly like all these styles I have heard some rumours about who is making these and They make me very happy as long as they are true .


I have come to love my copper putter so I would love to see some copper offerings. Carbon and Stainless are done by everyone I would like to see something new maybe even a limited offering. Your wedges are amazing I cant wait until the new 8620 wedges are in so I can complete my set. With the quality of putters this guy produces and the quality Scratch always has no matter what you do these are sure to be a hit

for me i would love a flowy round anser style with a weld neck similar to the tp mills neck style.

i would also like a boxy anser (newport 2) with a plumbers neck

both in soft carbon steel. maybe in a dull copper look, but i am not a fan of the bright shiny copper

That is the beauty of copper it come to you all shiny and you can either keep it that way or let it patina

I like the sound of a Damascus Anser style head. If you guys get a putter rep, make sure he knows what he is doing. I think it is awesome that Scratch is branching out to putters, and I wish you guys success with them. I'm sure that your putter maker knows what he is doing, and will provide some awesome stuff. How could you go wrong with an Antique finished putter?

I am all about the 8802 style. Copper, copper plated carbon steel, or Damascus would be my preferred metals.

I know a few lefties that would love an Anser 4 (flow neck) style in copper.
