Fan stands for fanatic and I am that for no player Part of me does not really like Tiger

But I am not sure its his fault. Maybe its the attention he gets and the love he commands

I was thrilled when he got his butt kicked today

Just the same he is the best there is was or will be for a long time and I totally respect that.

I'm a fan of his powerful swing, course management, tremendous skill with a putter and his incredible mind and will to win. I am in awe of what he has acheived in such a short period of time.

Do I root for him to win? Heck no! I was thrilled to see Yang turn the tables and get the job done when he had his opportunity. So I'm not a fan of seeing him win win win and everyone else lose lose lose. I enjoy upsets, pull for the underdogs, like to see others see their dreams come true once in awhile. Today was a great day.

So yes I'm a fan and no I am not. Which way do I vote?

If you are rooting against the player (TW) obviously you are not a fan of his. I enjoy watching him play as well and envy his game but like rooting for others to win. Im not a fan.

I am a fan. I love to watch him play and hit great shots from difficult spots. He has the best imagination on the golf course that I have ever seen, but I always root for the underdog because it's fun. So I voted no because I am always rooting for someone to rise up and beat him, but I love to watch him play

I am a huge Tiger fan. Personally it doesn't really matter to me if he wins each week, just watching him is exciting. He is a phenomenal athlete and works extremely hard. Now everybody makes such a big deal over his temper.. I really don't think its a big deal. In my other sports I see tempers flare and other things that are just part of being competitive, so I really could care less if he throws a club or 2.

BiPolar fan/anti fan

There are times, I am tired of his BS and really root for someone to kick his arse

and there are times, when I appreciate what he does and is...the greatest golfer ever.

Today...I was completely manic....FINALLY, someone was standing up to him.....flippin FINALLY!....and I found myself rooting for TW to get his sheeeit together and seal the deal.

In the end...TW is the best ever....will someday surpass all records...tip his hat to Arnie, Snead and Jack.....and disappear....lets enjoy the ride and witness history

But I just cant call myself a fan......=bipolar

I'm a fan but it's decreased. The TV coverage is disgraceful, specifically CBS. Feherty has no business covering Tiger. Today every putt was great, according to Feherty, stroked exactly as Tiger intended, despite the minor technicality that every one of the 10 foot-range putts looked destined to miss when it was halfway there, or less. Finally it took Brandel Chamblee to point out that Tiger's putting mechanics looked off, causing pulls. CBS wouldn't dare look for anything like that, let alone actually say it, and that type of thing has slowly made me less of a Tiger fan.

I want a real world portrayal, not cheerleading, same reason I'm not always thrilled with MSNBC despite their lean being identical to mine.

Besides, in the early years I could often get 3/1 on Tiger, sometimes higher. That made me a huge fan. :D

Those digits aren't available today.

+1

Lately I've been more anti-Tiger than pro-Tiger. I was hoping Yang would win, and thankfully he didn't disappoint.

Agreed on the TV coverage. Sometimes you just wish they'd shut up and let it play out how it's going to play out instead of trying to manufacture a story or trying to draw attention to themselves (cough...McCord, Feherty, Miller, Nantz, Hicks, Faldo...cough). The best announcers in golf tend to be the guys with a more understated approach like Gary Koch or Bob Murphy.

Fan!

Not a fan of poor media coverage that disrespects the players in the field! Having Grown up in an era when reporting was not about the reporters predictions and heart felt desires and more about the spontaneous events in live sports. The media down plays the achievements of people doing great things... the four major champions this year were treated like foot notes. And I think Tigers bid for 3 in a row was quite good considering he just came off major knee surgery.

Yep, pretty disappointing coverage. The media tries to create a story rather than letting it play out and reporting it in a honest way.

I'm in absolute aw of everything he has accomplished and everything he has done for the game. His ability to thrill is second to none. With that said, I always root against him. I have trouble rooting for the best at anything for what ever reason. I don't/didn't like the Yankee's, Patriots, Lakers, Earnhardt, Red Wings etc. The only athlete/team that I've pulled for that was the best in the sport is Lance Armstrong. Even if he has a reputation of being an a**, he was always the US's only legit shot at winning the Tour during his era. Probably the US's only shot in the tour next year also.

I am a fan of good golf. Tiger is the best in the world at the moment so I suppose yes....but I am a fan of his play, not so much his attitude. Some call it intense concentration, others call it the mental edge, I don't think some of his antics are warranted.

But I do enjoy watching him hit golf balls.

Definitely an understandable point of view. I hate the Yanks, Pats, and Lakers. But I was a Jordan fan and I'm a Tiger fan. Back when Tiger first came along, he drew my attention away from playing baseball and basketball as a teenager to playing golf. And I've been addicted to it for around 10 years at this point. Even though I think he acts like a petulant child fairly often, I still root for him if for no other reason than the fact that he introduced me to my favorite hobby and a hobby I hope to enjoy the rest of my life. It is frustrating to watch him at times though. He tends to drive the ball all over the lot whereas I tend to hit it fairly straight off the tee. I'm not a long hitter so it's a lot easier for me to control it than somenoe with an insane swing speed like Tiger, but it is still frustrating to watch him get on the tee and try to kill the ball when a smooth swing would probably put him in the fairway almost every time. Heh, such is golf though I suppose. No one is perfect. Not even Hogan (putter was a weakness) or Nicklaus (short game was a weakness) had perfect overall games and neither does Tiger (aforementioned driving accuracy problems).

I am a fan, not only of Tiger, but of golf in general.
I've seen them all dating back to the 1950's and Jack
will always be my favorite. I also have many other favorites.
If I look hard trying to find someone I don't root for it would
be the ones who are pretenders.
But TW is no pretender and I'll always have the view of
"Let the best man win" and that will be him more times
than any other individual. Yesterday if wasn't him.
Congrats to Y.A.
