Blades, and some othe stuff used to play golf!
Well my bag is constantly changing so that is why I have never done a WITB before. However, I feel confident that this setup will remain in play for some time

I have had a few (okay way to many) sets of blades in the past but, the Vega T.50mb and the Wilson Staff FG59's are really sweet. Both irons are really different which I think you will see from my pics. Which set do I like better? Not sure that is like asking if you prefer blondes over brunettes. Both are attractive irons that work well and feel good. I don't have a lot of rounds in with the FG59's yet, but what I can tell you is they are very solid, not as soft as the Vega's but they are like surgical instruments. The grind on the FG59's is the best I have ever seen, there is not a shot when hitting the FG59's that you feel you can't hit. The Vega's are softer as stated before and hit the ball higher, they feel as good they look (especially after my pimp paint job). The only complaint that I have of the Vega's is the amount of offset is a little more than I care for, they could use less. The Vega's tend to play a little more forgiving because of the offset, but you have to work harder to move the ball.

Just got the FT-9 I-mix because as a equipment ho, I thought that having the ability to change shafts would help the wallet out. Now I can change shafts without switching out the whole driver. The FT-9 currently has the Matrix Xcon 6 shaft in it, but I think I might switch out to a different shaft because my miss with this head/shaft combo makes it rain. I know it is a high launch shaft, but some of my drives have been tracked by NASA.

Cobra S9-1 Pro 3 wood what can I say about it other than that it is the best 3 wood I have ever hit. It's scary long. The only down side is the face is wearing really fast and looking like crap, beware if you get one the face will not be pretty after a few months of golf and range balls.

Old school Nike 5 wood rescue club the oldest in my bag and for a reason I hit it really well. This is my go to club on so many shots my friends joke that I could play an entire round of golf using only it.

Rife blade works, enough said.

Great looking set up, with two great looking sets of blades. Those stickers need to be removed from the woods though LOL.

I feel for you it would be hard to be a lefty and seeing all the good stuff for righties. I do believe that the FG17's came in lefty might want to try and find a set on the Bay.

yeah, those are some awesome blades. if i were gonna game blades, it would be either those or the Nickent Arc blades.

Thanks for the compliment. I would have thought the Vega's would be the irons generating the most buzz.

Where did you find those grips that you have on the Vega blades? I love the lamkin grips just had that put on my r7's but theyre plain black and white.

Sick blades btw. I hope to be good enough to hit something like that one day. Like your driver as well. Nice set up.

I am thinking of buying an old set of Ram tour grinds to practice with, those are some nice sticks.

I got them from my local golf shop, they do come in various colors. I choose that color to compliment the blue and white paint. Thanks for the reply.

Both are beautiful sets of blades. I really like the look of the new Wilsons. Any idea what the offset specs on those are? I looked it up on the Wilson Staff site but didn't see anything on offset.

Not sure what the offset specs are, but I can tell you they have almost none. I have played a lot of blades and can't think of any that had less offset. Like I said with the grind and the lack offset on these irons they are very accurate and easy to move the ball around. Wilson has a winner here.

Thanks. That's good to know, my Maxfli Revolution Black Dots have almost none too, and its for that reason I've not replaced them despite their age - I can't find a nice set of cavity backs with minimal to no offset. I don't play enough to get a set of blades either but I may just have to after seeing these.

Don't be afraid to try a set of modern blades they are a lot more forgiving then blades from the 80's. I had no problems with the FG59's even their size doesn't bother me at all. As long as your miss isn't close to the heel, you should be fine if it is you will be a shankapotamus.

Glad you are enjoying them .
I have both of these sets and they are different .
Yes......, Vega 's are out of the world when it comes to softness . FG59 are small heads , precise and beautiful looking with a very tight dispersion.
Yep me and Ezgolfer have the same good taste in irons, thanks for parting with a set.

Thanks for the tip on that. The whole technology advancement - playability thing never even occurred to me, haha. I think I'm okay with ballstriking, I am consistent in hitting shots in the middle of the face and my mishits are mostly it thin so I should be safe from the shanks for now.
Lol, I just read the part that when you want to change a shaft you have to change the driver :o:o
Thats not true, u just have to get a butane fuel mini torch and get the shaft off. Then clean and glue and your ready to go :D
I shudder at the thought of me and a flame torch, I could see me having to replace more then just the shaft :black eye:
