Putter in the Trash

Absolutely sick about what happened to my putter. I traded an old set of irons for a beater Cameron Pro Platinum Midslant. I played it for a few rounds, than decided to sent it to Colbert's Putter Place, and get a black finish on it. I got it back on Wednesday, and kept it in the box in my room. I was at work, and I came home, got a shower, and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning my box was missing. I call my mom and ask her where the box is. Her response. "That ratty cardboard box? I threw it out in the trash last night." I run outside and our trash is gone. I am still sick about this whole situation.

Don't rush it.... theres alot to be said about living at home!!! no job, house payment, rent, utilities etc. All more money to throw towards a golf addiction!!!! Sorry for your loss!!

Exactly what I was thinking - I had to re-read that post carefully.

If you contact the trash company and give them your address, they will know what truck picks up your trash based upon the assigned routes. They can then notify the driver to be on a look out for the box when they dump their load. More than likely you may be able to salvage the head. It's worth a shot. I work for a garbage company and have been out to some our sites and have seen how compact loads are. I am thinking the head would come out farely okay unless it was caught just right in the compactor.

Sucks to hear. My question is... how did she not realize there wasnt something in the box? I moved out on my own a little over a year ago and my room at home is just full of a lot of crap, but my family is under strict orders not to throw anything out. I have too many random grips/clubs/etc stashed that I dont want to lose.

Ya seems a bit ridiculous. We've all handled our share of boxes with putters in them.. its not exactly hard to tell theres something in there.. does your mother usually come into your room and throw out things when she doesn't know what they are?

I had a bunch of empty boxes sitting in the corner of my room, and my putter in its box was laying on the other side of the room, partially open, but wasnt super heavy compared to the other ones. It was a mistake, partially my fault but luckily my mom is buying me a new one.
