Retief Goosen testing at the BMW...

Retief Goosen was testing the new R9 Version "B" out at the BMW Championship. These heads are Cast 8620 soft like the Burner Version "B". However you will see they have a darkened color. He liked them and him and his caddy were impressed on day 1 with them. He wont switch till after the tour Championship. The Black insert felt soft to the touch like a Rubber material. Off the hook grinds and shape.

I would buy these - I love the no offset and thin top line look. I just wish the hosels were a little longer in the short irons.

Wow, wonder if these will ever make it retail. But since the TP B version never made it, won't keep my hopes up on these .

Snowflakes chance in hell of TaylorMade offering these, or something equivalent to these, for retail consumption though. Just won't happen... they seem convinced that club golfers everywhere lie awake at night dreaming of tennis racquet type golf clubs with huge offset.

Hey TM. I know you guys are all over this site so would you please listen to us and make this exact iron available!!!!!!!!!!! Why is it so hard to make a "blade like" head with a thin top line and near zero offset??? And dont refer me to the Tour Preferred or the MB's cause neither one is anything like these. These would bring me back to try a TM iron for sure, but nothing in the current or recent past product line interests me at all.

The backs remind me of the RAC Proto, maybe I'm wrong. Nonetheless, it's an offering TM needs to offer at least to selected accounts like the Tour C CG7s that Cleveland offers.

They could sell these for $999 all day in the retail space, all day. These would be the most popular players CB on the market and bring many Mizuno, Titlesit and Ping guys bank into the fold (including myself). Hell, offer 1000 sets as a limited offering and watch them fly off the shelves....BB

wow...i'm not much of a TM fan, but I would definitely give those a look. Love the thin topline and clean look. but i doubt they will be released since they are the "b" versions of the r9 irons

The lack of offset is a wonderful thing. I doubt they will bring them to retail for some reason TM seems to really drop the ball in this area. They are so focused on the GI aspect of the market they don't realize they could have their cake and eat it too.

That is the best looking iron that I have seen from Taylormade in a long, long, like 5 releases ago time. Great shape, nice top line, and very little offset why is that so hard to release to the public. Only complaint is they are not forged.

Other than the box toes, those are the best looking irons that TM has ever produced. As others have said, it's sad that they won't make retail. The retail version doesn't appeal to me in any way, but these would be in my bag for sure.

Wow! I want those! I think the resale on the Tour Preferred B's just dropped a few bills. These will be the new $3k set. The Tour Preferred B's will probably drop to $1500 or so now, I think they were too high at $2k myself, but some people will pay for them....

+1 - they never seem to listen - they think all amateur golfers seem to desire clubs with offset which a lot of us DON'T!!!!
