Maybe TM just prefers the business from the back door of the tour van instead, foolish. Why not offer this iron in a limited edition at some point in the year when business tends to be slow....holidays maybe?? Do it through a mico-site, ie. Vokey, Scotty etc. I will never ever play a TM iron unless it's a "B" period, so the wait continues...BB

the new b's look ok.. i agree with you on the bove.. very similar to the forged tp's from japan,,,, which i have and am now gaming.. i'll take mine over the new b's anyday of the week!!

 

 

 

Hmmmm..... Having had a chance to hit these... Hhhmm think almost MP-37.... but with almost 0 offset.. in terms of playability... Pretty soft feel too, typical of Taylormade's Casts...

I'm still more partial to the Burner b's myself, but I wish TM would release both. There are a lot of low handicappers who love TM innovation but get jobbed by their catering to the game improvement market. I realize that's where the money is but still, it's not like they can't have their cake and eat it too. They definitely wont lose money if they produce a line of quality players clubs.

I agree. The Japan Burner Forged and the Japan Burner TP are far better designs compared to the same old "B" irons they keep producing for the tour players. I don't see how anyone can say the R9 TP "B" performs better than the Tour Preferred "B" irons.

the r9 b head is no better than the tour preferred b head. it's just for marketing so the general public thinks they are playing the same "new" thing from taylormade

Well I work at a course here in Az and had a on of the head guys from Taylormade performance labs play the course. I got to shooting the stuff with him about Tmade products and he said save my money up because the R9 Superdeep and R9 TP "B"s were going to come out on the market! This was a month ago before the Supertri was out and he had it along with Tour Preferred "B" irons as well.

I'm new here, but Taylor is building me a set of these heads in a project x 6.0. I hit them at Carlsbad in True Temper of some sort, which I don't prefer, but the heads themselves were gorgeous. I'd be happy to report, I should receive them any day.

I hit a friend's set of the R9 B's and basically my reaction to TM is "come on, man!" How can you release that garbage R9 iron out there now called a TP? The B series is so superior of a setup and truly reflective of what a TP club is all about.

some say they have first hand knowledge that TM will release these in april, others have said no way these ever make it to retail.. but if anyone gets them, it'll be on the other site.. they had the tour preferred "b" s for a long time.. so check with them periodically..

I was told the B will be definitely available to the staff members but I do not know for sure if it will coming retail. I have an email to confirm this.

Nobody here worries about a piece of rubber a few years down the road? Retief will have something new, we would have to replace a junk design not under warranty!? Sometimes I don't get it....a higher moi design with zero offset cast blah blah blah? I can tell you I hit every major brand of iron last summer at an outside demo day and the last TM rendition felt like poop when you hit it...no feedback at all. My bud has the tm japan forging and it is nice...this rubber stuff is questionable to me! You guys want something rare and awesome, that Cally proto is the bomb!

The B irons are only available through TM staff members. TM is setting aside so many of the B irons for staff members for their personal use but also selling sets to the public only through said staff members. 1100 sets total, 300 set aside for staff people and 800 for the public $1199 3-PW only. I got my order in!
