Any 7 Wood users out there??

Tell me about your experience

Hey Guys and Gals,

I recently picked up a 904F 7 wood to try as a replacement to my 21* 585 hybrid which replaced my 3 iron sort of. Anyway I am not getting along with my hybrid or any hybrid for that matter. Maybe I am not I hybrid kind of guy.

So any of you use a 7 wood? If so what do you use it for primarily and what do you like or dislike about it? FYI I like the 904 series, and I not asking for recommendations, just your thoughts on 7 woods.

I had a Callaway Seven Wood and I hated it. I didn't understand the purpose of having such a long shaft on a club with such high loft. Maybe you need to try some different hybrids?

I have a Cally 7+ at 41.5" and 20.5 loft... so it's basically like a weakess 5w with a tiny head. Fills the gap between 3w and 3I and is easy to hit in some rough. Never like hybrids either.

i have a 21* v-steel that i love. i hit it about 220-225

During the summer, I ditched my 21* hybrid and went back to my old releiable Sonartec 2.5 7 wood.

I don't know, could be in the mind, but I can hit my 7 wood much better that the hybrid. I just cannot be consistent with a hybrid.

I love my 7 wood. I have tried twice to kick it out with a hybrid. I have a 4 hybrid that is my 185ish club and the 7 wood from 200-210. It is always straight and very nice off the deck. From long par 3s I hit it off the deck or only slightly tee'd up. It is great from the fairway and the first cut. It is pretty versatile for me ...I will even use it out of fairway bunkers if it is called for.

I had a number of hybrids including a 585h. I cannot hit a hybrid to save my life so I decided to give a 7 wood a chance. Let me tell you it has completely turned around my 195-215 yardages. I can hit one high and low and shape it any which way. I use it for all types of shots and for me it was more versatile than a hybrid. I feel confident hitting it out of the rough, off the tee, off the fairway and I use it for those 15 yard little bump and run shots around the green. For me it was the best club I have added to my bag so far and one that will probably not get replaced. I can't think of one con to having a 7 wood.

I have a Mizuno 7 wood. I can hit it, and it's mate 4 wood off the tee OK, but off the deck I'm having trouble with them.

When I hit the 7 good, I get a nice high ball flight and it goes around 200 yards. So I'm happy with that. But I need a club between it and my 5 iron so I'm thinking of adding a 3-Hybrid. I imagine it will be easier to hit the 3-H off the deck.
