Titleist 909d3 vs. Ping i15

Both with Whiteboard 73x
Im looking for a new driver as I hit my Tour issue Tour Burner 10.5 with a 7a3 way too high.

I'm thinking about either a Titleist 909d3 8.5* with a Whiteboard 73x or a i15 8* with a Whiteboard 73x. I can get the Titleist for cheaper which is why I'm leaning towards that but how do these two combos compare? I want something that I can hit bullets with. If anyone could help out that would be great!

Thanks!
thanks for your reply. Have you hit the r9 460? How would you compare the ball flight of that to the titleist. I had a 9.5 that I hit a little to high.

Anyone else have any opinions?
I have, I did not like it at all. I found my D3 much better. I wanted to like the R9 because it really suited my eye but it just didnt feel good to me and the LM#s backed that up.
I recently demoed both these heads and came away much preferring the i15. I found that the 909D3 spun a lot more than the Ping and I also preferred the look of the Ping. I kinda went in wanting to like the Titleist too, so was a little surprised that the Ping performed so much better.
Glad you like it! The I15 is a sick looking club!

I have the D3 and I am thinking of switching to the I15. It is a hotter clubface to me. It also seemed to be lower launch and spin than the D3.
No contest, hands down the i15 was waaaay better for me. I have a swing speed right at a hundred and my miss is a hook. The I15 is a beast. Feels as solid as anything.
Looks like the i15 is a winner so far. I still got a couple days before I order a driver so hopefully I can hit both and see. Still looking for feedback!

Thanks!

Hit the i15 9.5* with the stock ping shaft. Wow this club is sick. Hit one 360 with not much wind today. Not really sure how but I'll take it. Now I'm kinda wondering if I should get an 8* or 9.5 with a whiteboard cause I hit this combo just a touch high. I guess I could get the 8* and tee it higher if needed. What do you guys think?

WB should knock it down some, I can't even imagine an 8* with a WB, I am a pretty high launch player and I was getting a good angle with the stock shaft in a 9.5. If you got an 8* that would be a knuckle ball launcher.

I've hit and tested all three. I know some on here would kill for there R9- I just could not get the numbers out of it compared to others. I have hit the 909 d3 with a wb73x and a I15 with wb73x - hands down I have to give it to the I15.

If you are looking for a cheaper option I 100% agree with going with the J33r. You could also look at last years Ping V2. I think it is basically the same head just looks a heck of a lot better in black

I hit my TBTP in 8.5. I'm hitting my I15 (and 909) at 9.5 but my head is open 2*-3* so mine is in the 8.something area (can't remember exact sorry). If your coming from a 10.5 TB I would think a 9.5 would work. If the flight is too high with a WB try a different shaft. Also what about your TPHD blue you are running now?

That's a WRX 360, which exists on our screens only. 2 guys on the Washington Huskies hit it as long as anyone, and the best they could do recently, during a PING fitting, was 322. The OP is in Bellingham WA, at sea level for crying out loud.
