Pros Playing "lesser" known OEM's

After Reading the post on Ryan Moore switching to Scratch Irons, and having played a few different Tour Edge clubs got me wondering which other Pro's, by name, play some lesser known OEM's? Scrathc, KZG, Tour Edge, Fouteen, etc, etc, etc

Yeah, I know the contracts get in the way I read on the Tour Edge website that they do not name the pros that play their equipment since they do not pay anyone to play. I was just wondering if anyone knew the names of any who do. I should have something more productive on my mind, but I don't.

Luke Donald uses a TE Exotics fairway wood

a lot of guys use tour edge woods. duval, donald, kuchar, brian gay, cant think of others. sean o hair has had a tour edge hybrid in the bag in the past

In last year's footjoy catalog they had a picture of Zach Johnson at the Masters and he was hitting a TEE 3 Wood

A couple of years ago, I forget his name, but he was playing a set of Feel blade irons and nearly won a tournament. He ended up going with his sponsor's irons later. Bo Van Pelt used to play Solus wedges. Lots of guys still use Fourteen driving irons/hybrids - Duval for one (I think). Like it's been said, lots of guys are using TEE CB2 3woods. Quinney(sp) is still sponsored by Nickent and I think only plays their driver, hybrid and putter.

I think it was James Driscoll who played the Feel Blades.

Feel golf? I checked on the website and the irons look ok, not sure what they're going for with the "reverse tapered" grips. I'm looking for a new set of blades so I'm open to anything, but they're pretty limited with your fitting options.

I had a rep try to explain those to me once, they are suppose to make you release the the club. Never really worked for me. But that was the explination I got out of it.

To the original Topic - there are a few instances, but very, very few, when you consider the number of PGA, Champions, Nationwide, and European Tour Players. The fact that we can attempt to list those who do speaks to that.

There are a few

TE Exotic Fairways.
Nickent Hybrids.
Scratch, Solus, and Feel Wedges.

Numbers grow of course when you speak of Putters. You have; Rife, Yes!, Seemore, Bettinardi, Grace, TP MIlls, Nickent Pipes, TE Exotics Milled, to name a few.

The LPGA probably has the most diverse group of non-U.S. popular OEMs, as many play JDM equipment such as Fourteen, Maruman, PRGR, Tour Stage, and so on.

Thanks to Golfwrx and the WITB pics a tourneys, we are able to see the few variances. When I first joined this site about four years ago, I would have thought many more players used mixed bags. But given the investment that Major OEMs make, I can see why they more and more don't allow other names in the bag.

I think you would actually find more Pros who use a combination of Major OEMs as opposed to the lesser known companys. Example; TM Drivers, Odyssey Putters, and Vokey Wedges. The Pros decisions may have as much to do with the service provided at tour events as the equipmet itself.

That's interesting as I haven't seen it advertised. I would think they would push that good of a finish on a course as hard as Augusta. Good wedges though.....

not too long ago, there was a store on eBay selling heads for around $2 a piece. If you're interested, check out eBay and you might find a HUGE steal.

I don't think Woosie uses Forgan clubs, I think he just carries their bag & caps, etc - might be wrong, but I thought he played some other oem blades?

Up until recently he was bagging Taylor Made gear - Japan-spec TP cavity backs, TP wedges and Burner woods. Driver is/was a Callaway FT-5. THe whole lot were plonked in a Forgan bag though.
