Low lofted hybrid or 3 wood TEE vs Adams

Which do you choose and why?

Im currently gaming two Adams Idea Pro hybrids and while I like my Exotics 4 wood I dont hit it as consistently as my hybrids, it may be the shorter shaft. My thought is trying out a lower lofted hybrid like 16 or 18 degree to get more accuracy and consistency. I hit my 23* 215 and my 20* 230 and hit them well, I love them!!! While I hit my Exotics 4 wood 250 maybe a little further off the tee. If I can hit a 16 or 18 degree hybrid 245-250 but more consistently than the 4 wood that would be perfect.

So for those that have tried both which do you prefer and why? Also 16 or 18 degree? What about TEE hybrids vs Idea Pro? Does the 16 degree hybrid hit too low off of deck/rough?

i do, (see sig).
could never hit my 3-wood off the deck consistently (had to be an absolutely good lie).
the 15* Ping G10 hybrid is about 15-20 yards shorter than a well struck 3-wood of mine but much more versatile and consistent.

and i use my 18* hybrid both as a 5-wood replacement and a 3-iron (choke down).

I like to carry a 17* Mizuno hybrid on windy days and on courses with narrow fairways. It's about 10-15 yards shorter than my 4-wood but it's a more versatile club with a lower trajectory to stay under gusty winds. Different horses for different courses.

I absolutely love the Adams Idea pro hybrids. I play the 20 and have a 23 & 18 just waiting to be put into play. I've tried the 16 but couldn't elevate high enough to consider putting into the bag. I just bought a TEE CB2 16.5 4 wood and will be trying out later this week, so I'll have to get back to you on that.

Yeah the Exotics woods are excellent. Maybe I should try cutting mine down a tad, I think its at 42.75 now. But I think Im also going to try either a 18 or 16 degree hybrid too, I hit the 20 and 23 pretty high. My 20 and 23 hybrids are auto straight though too. My miss from 215-230 is never that bad where as from 240-260 with the 4 wood it could be. Maybe Im just a hybrid type of player. Is a 18* going to be much of a distance difference than a 20* though? Id like to be able to hit it 240-245 but high enough to land soft. If Im outside of that on a par 5 I'll just have to lay up short. Can still get up and down from 20 short but its alot harder from the trees/weeds/water.

Check out the TEE XCG hybrids. They are crazy long and super easy to control. The shorter stock shaft takes a little getting used to, but you should not be disappointed. Check out my full review on the review site.

I routinely switch out between a 17* hybrid and a 18.5* fairway wood depending on the course and conditions. I prefer to hit the hybrid because of the shorter shaft and ease out of the rough. However, since I don't hit a high ball in general, my shots with the 17* hybrid tend to have a lot of roll out whereas I can get the fairway wood to land nice and soft.

Yeah the reason I'm not playing the 18* is because it is only 5-10 yards longer the the 20*. I hit the 20* 225-230 and the 18* 233-238. Just too close in yardage. I do swap 18 for the 20 if I'm playing in a tourney that has a long par 3 that warrants the 18*.

I picked up my 17* Heavenwood several years ago and for the majority of the time since I haven't had a fairway wood in the bag, it is my go-to club bar none. If I sacrifice any distance against what I hit my old 4 wood it's minimal and more than made up for by how much more consistent I am with the hybrid. The only issue I have is that it leaves an odd gap in the bag, I am trying decide if I want to add another and on which side of the loft spectrum to go. If I can manage to find a decent 14* heavenwood I'm tempted to pick it up and give it a shot. I'm also toying around with going the opposite direction and picking up a 20 or 21 degree hybrid as I probably would use that far more than going with an even lower lofted option... Anyways, back to your point, I think that I've been much better off since I added the hybrid and dropped my old fairway wood, if you find something you can be consistent with, stick with it. I tried putting a 3w back in the bag recently and I've found that I simply don't use it.
