TM Rescue Mid vs. Rescue Mid TP

What is the Primary Difference Between the Two
Sorry I don't have time to research the TM website to compare specs, etc. If I were to guess, the primary difference besides color, is the TP has a lower ball flight.

Are the offsets the same?

I assume that if I am trying to replace a 3 iron straight up, then the non TP is probably the ticket. I actually want a higher ball flight. I understand that most good ball strikers are getting 5 wood performance from the 19 degree Rescue TP.

I've been playing the '08 Rescue TP and I find that I really like the feeling of the original Rescue for some reason.

Thanks.

Reviving this thread as I was also digging around for the difference between the old school TM Rescue Mid (non TP) vs the TP version.

I love my rescue mid but tend to hook - a common problem w/ this club. I read the sole made the club sit closed, and the head is draw weighted. Both of these were corrected in the Rescue Dual, which I also have but don't like as much.

Most specifically, i am wondering if the TP head is neutral weighted.

Thanks for the help.

Digging around I have read the follwoing:
* non-TP version has a draw weighted head
* TP vs. non TP have varying tip size depending on steel or graphite
* shaft is different (of course Fuji Vista Pro vs. generic Ultralight)
* shaft is longer in TP's

The non TP was more hook bias based on the head design....not sure if it was because of the offset or not. In graphite it came in a much lighter weight shaft then the TP.

Flat out your best bet for these heads is to have them bent open and more often then not, bent flatter, or find a Tour Issued one that has both done plus some Hot Melt.

I have played a 22 degree for about 4 years now with a fade bias and it will not be leaving the bag soon. Before that, I had a tour 19 that was flat out a monster for me till the face had an issue. I have tried to replace it with some other tour heads that just are not quite the same. Good, but not like that one.

The Dual RM you could adjust the weights to create more of a Fade Bias, but you still had what I feel is a very upright club that sat closed due to the back weight port at address. Many of the Pro's had this portion of the sole grinded down to make the head sit more square.

The RM TP or Tour Issued Heads are awesome heads still today......find someone that can bend them to your needed specs and you should have what you need.

Do not count out the skinny TP head from 2007 either.....again, if bent this is a very good resuce to own. Main problem is head weight on all of these...should be "heavy" to preform the best.

Thank you TMBob, V. Helpful

You basically said look for Tour issue, vs TP badged bc it will prob be bent.

I agree from owning a few of these that the uprightness and way it can sit closed at address can be a problem.

But in the absence of finding tour issue rescue mids, it sounds like there's no need to buy the TP version other than the shaft, since the rescue mid non tp head is the same specs and needs bending.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't overlook the stock Rescue Mid (non TP). To me the hook issues with the Mid were quickly solved with a reshaft. I'm playing a 19 and 22 with the Fujikura 904HB. Both of them sit very square, the 22 may even be a little open, even with no bending. I have yet to hit a better hybrid, and I've tried about everything (yes, even Adams). I think if you get a good stout low-launching shaft for the regular Mid's you'll be pleasantly surprised. TM really messed up with putting high torque, ultralite graphite shafts in those, and I think that accounted for the majority of the "hook monster" reputation they have.
