all G10 iron users

what shafts do you have and what do you like about them ?

after getting rediculous low ball offers for my 5 month old set of G10's on craigs list, ive decided to keep them and make a project out of them. i currently have the awt shafts in stiff and dont like the extremely high ball flight and they feel a little light. im gonna put some X flex shafts in them to try out and was wondering what you guys thought of the other shafts you may be playing in them.

I have always beeen interested in hear what other shaft people use in the G10's. I definitely agree the AWT hits way too high IMHO.

C'mon man, I was gonna buy that 3 iron like a month ago!

But about the AWT shafts, they're not good IMO. I played them in Xstiff in my i10s for a few rounds and they just kept ballooning higher and higher every time. I went to DGS300s and I hard-stepped them. The ball flight is absolutely perfect and the dispersion is very tight. I highly recommend the DGS300s.

You can probably pick up a set of pulls on the BST for like $50.

If you have a smoother tempo and like a sofer feel, try some Nippons. You can also get them for about $60 on the BST.

unfortunatly i just cant break up the set just in case.

what would you guys recomend for a smooth takeaway but a hard transistion on the way down in an X flex thats around 115-130 grams ? id prefer a mid flight.

I'm just kidding about the 3 iron. I actually picked up a rapture 3 iron a few days ago. Should be here any day now.

You're takeaway really doesn't matter too much, IMO. If you make a hard transition then you'll just want to demo different shafts and find the one that feels the best.

I'm not too much of an expert on the comparable flexes. Joe Kwok has some great info here
