Some Photos of Scratch Irons and Wedges

So I get asked quite frequently to take and send photos of my irons, wedges and what not so I figured I might as well make a thread. FYI the SB1s are almost 4 years old!

Below is a comparison of a Scratch SB1 and an EZ1 (4 iron) to show the size difference and how similar they look. EZ1 looks like a big blade and IMO the best looking GI club made.

Here are some photos of the 8620 wedges showing the shape, leading edge, grooves, and finish color.

And here is some more pics of a SB1 eight iron.

Very nice. I hit the SB-1's,AR-1's and the EZ-1's albeit just into some nets, but they all felt great. The Sb-1's were my favorite.

Cool pics Dan. Would you say the SB-1's are the same size head as the AR-1 but just a blade instead of a "players cavity", and maybe a thinner topline? I love the look of the SB-1's. So that is after 4 years of play, they still look great (never had a refinish?)! Lastly what are you playing for shafts?

Never refinished, very good chrome plating job. Similar in size to AR1 but quite a bit thinner topline. EZ1 has a thinner topline than AR1 as I'm sure you've seen. I play Black Nickel KB Tours.

I think scratch has the best looking irons out right now from every view. They would please me more if the offset was zero and the iron numbers were on the toe and hosel as the ping zing2's. The business area needs to be smooth and easy to clean as these are tools that are in contact with dirt everytime. I absolutely love my miura wedges sole, simple and clean.

We offer EZ1s and AR1s in zero offset and you could stamp the numbers on toe in our Tour Department sets.

Are the zero offset AR1s and EZ1s a retail or tour department offering?

The SB1s have virtually no offset already, I'd have to ask if we have a set of heads with even less offset.
Can't believe that a GI iron can look THAT GOOD. topline wise
Honestly I love my set, but the best thing is a GI 4-6 w/ zero offset w/ a super thin topline (for a GI), awesome.

The AR-1 w/ zero offset (posted by Dan, w/ the white ferrule) is mine. Mine do have zero offset but the lofts have been strengthed 1*-2* through out the set. I am pretty sure it adds just a touch of offset to it. I am not ssure how much, but I am sure some here know the math. I know a driver dialed open/closed 1* changes the loft like .6* or 1*. So I am sure there is some rule of thumb for adding or subtracting loft and what it does to an irons offset but I don't know wha it is though.

Regardless they are great sticks. I have not played alot of different irons and wedges over the years, I find something I like and stick w/ it. But these are the best irons/wedges I have played w/o a doubt. I was very skeptical about the grinds. Then once I ordered them I was nervous waiting for them to show up but it all went away after the first round I used them. They are simply put the best I have played (I emphasized the I, just because its my personal experience against clubs that I have played in years past).

The AR1 cavity backs are B/O as is the bottom wedge posted

Heads are slightly smaller, thinner topline and much thinner sole (not visible from address)

Beadblasted face usually
How does the plating hold up? Wouldn't it get gashed up by heavy play?
not really as it is still a carbon steel head and a plated finish. It will wear faster than say a chrome wedge but would wear better than a raw/oxidized wedge. Copper plating has been used on wedges for quite a long time.
