Retirement pending, I'm out!!

I live in Pinehurst, NC. This area most CERTAINLY meets any golfing requirements that you have (or could conceivably have). I play 12 months/year although mid December to mid February can be iffy. Some comments:

1) This is a small place. While we have a Lowe's, no Home Depot. We have only had a Best Buy for 2 years, while there are a handful of good restaurants you will quickly 'learn them all', etc. If a small town doesn't work for you, then Pinehurst won't work for you

2) 80 minutes (best case) to a major airport

3) The 'through high school' school system is very good, but you don't have to go far away from here before you go from 'good' to maybe OK. I don't think that I could claim that the state college system is absolutely as good as NY, but it is good.

4) Over-all affordability is certainly good (compared to NY)

You have lots of choices for sure.

Pinehurst is a great place to live. Golf is unbelievable, healthcare is world class, climate is good, crime rate, what crime rate?

It is very affordable place to live. Schools are well funded and good. Private school options are available. Ft Bragg is nearby which offers a nice underpinning to the resort economy.

The value is great in Pinehurst! Let me know if you want more unfo.
