Twin Cities WRXers, hear any good private deals

Hey everybody,

 

The golf season is upcoming. What is everybody hearing in terms of good private club membership deals that are out there?

 

Obviously the Hazeltines, Interlachens and Minikahdas are doing fine, but there have to be some good deals out there.

I've seen burl oaks advertising a lot on tv for membership deals

There are quite a few good deals out there right now. I believe that Minnetonka CC, Minnesota Valley, and Ben Creek will let you in for zero down. Windsong ran a similar deal last summer to increase dues paying members. I would bet that Rolling Green would be rally cheap if not zero down as well. Also with the whole Madof scandal effecting over 100 member(or so I heard) I'd guess that Oak Ridge would have some large breaks in membership fee's. Currently I think that the best bang for the is likely Olympic Hills. You can get in for 13,500, which I understand is a substantial amount, but it's much less than others mentioned in the first post and yet a really good golf course on the way up with their new Super.

I'm near Hastings CC. Not sure if they are doing anything this year, but they have been

begging people for the last few years.

 

BC7, so Olympic has a new super?? That's great, i've played there a few times in the last

couple years, and I don't think it's been in good shape AT ALL. Not very impressive. JMO.

Rolling Green has been Medina Golf & Country Club for about 5 years now.

Still about $23,000 to get in. Man, Oak Ridge really got hammered by Madoff causing HUGE problems. I feel really badly for those folks right now, hopefully they will rebound quickly.

what is Bural Oaks asking for? Also is it worth it?...also I played Olympic Hills last year and my friend who is only 25 is a member and he said he pays about 350-400 a month but doesn't have to pay anything like food and bev. He also said they have come down big time from the initiation fees and his monthly payment goes towards his initiation fee.

Bearpath has waived their initiation fee which used to be 60k.

Hillcrest in St. Paul is really reasonable. Pool and nice clubhouse. Course is older, a little on the short side, but typically in nice shape.

Ok so I heard the Olympic Hills and Bear Path are struggling for Members so they have an option to buy just for the summer. I think he mentioned other course but wasn't sure. I heard it from a guy and caught the tail end of it. Guy was saying for like 500 a month you can pay to be a member on a monthly basis. Anyone know that this is true?
