Thanks mp-60

Recommended Posts

Well I guess Mizuno know's of Golfwrx now . I had a friend look into getting a set of these for me should they reach the general public. He contacted Mizuno who asked him where he had heard of the MP-60's. He went on to tell them that I had showed him the pics on Golfwrx. He said the Mizuno people were pretty surprised since they told him that something like only four guys were issued the sets. Mizuno also told him that they will be meeting in 6 weeks to discuss the release.

So thank you again InTheHole for the pics and the scoop on the irons! Congratulations Golfwrx! :idhitit:

Thanks for the great scoop pics.

If these are to the MP-32 what the 690.cb is to the 690.mb, this may be the best cb in history and part of the best combo set in history.

I'm definitely going to order myself a set of these cuties :idhitit: Mp60 :D

I wonder if they are going to be as forgiving as the old Mp30 or more like the Mp27, which sadly enough only were made for the Asian market.

The way I see it is like this: The Mp30 is less forgiving compared to the Mp32, no matter the fact that the Mp30 has a cavity and the Mp32 a cut muscle blade like cavity.

I've tried both sets and to me the Mp32 were more forgiving on mishits than the Mp30 were.

The Mp60 will have the cavity from the Mp30 and the cut muscle from the Mp32 - so I think the forgiveness of the Mp60 could be somewhere in between the Mx-23 and the Mp27 - what do you guys think of my conclusion based purely on my guessing :drinks: :drinks:

No matter what I'll kepp my precious Mp32 for sure. But maybe I'll sell my trusty Mx-23 and get myself a set of these Mp60 - Mizuno irons rocks like no one :D :miz: :hunter: :nono:

To me only Endo forged irons and Miura irons rank in the same league as Mizuno when it comes to irons - Hogan is up there too, but lately Hogan has not produced any kind a quality forged irons. Titleist irons are great, so is Taylor Made irons (the Rac TP is Endo forged, i think) - but Mizuno is in a league of their own right now :ok:

Hi,

I'm new on here and have been waiting to see/hear comments on the new iron from Mizuno. Now ive seen them im not dissapointed!

But...... are they intended as a good players club, i.e. the MP-30/MP-32 or are they aimed at the player who would buy the MX-23.

Thanks

I compared the MP-60 images to the MP-32 and noticed that in addition to the "Cut Muscle" feature, the MP-60 has a cavity (or perimeter weighting) where the MP-32 does not. In addition, the MP-60 appears to have one extra grove which might indicate a bigger club head.

I'm a complete novice at this but it seems that the MP-60 might be geared towards the MP-30/MX-23 crowd.

Any thoughts?

Rich

Profiler is the only person I know that has actually hit them so he's most qualified to answer. If I were to speculate based on the pics. and my experience with Mizuno irons I would saw they are somewhere between the 32/30 and the 23. In other words, not as demanding as the 32 or 30 but not as game improvement as the 23s.

Pic now available. Agree that the iron heads look fantastic. I've been researching a lot for irons which are more traditional blade-like in look, but will accomodate the swing of a once a week 5 handicapper. (I'm like thousands of golfers who think they are good, but get to 5 and get no lower).

My conclusions will not surprise you Titleist 690CB (although this site has shown me that 735CM is a possible); TM RAC TP; Srixon i-302 forged; Wilson Pi5, Hogan Forged Apex FTP and 2 options from Mizuno MP-32 and MP-30.

Tested MP-32 and MP-30 6 irons together at range with DG s300, std lie and loft. Both flew similar distances (170 yds) and both were equally forgiving, which was a big surprise (maybe there is something to this cut muscle theory). Also surprised that MP-32 was easier to hit than MP-30, particularly when shaping draw and fade. Indeed control of shape was beautiful with MP-32 and made me feel like a scratch golfer probably feels (I have no idea!!).

Was very tempted to go with the MP-32s, but had this nagging doubt about ability to switch to a club so close to a blade as these. I currently have Ping i-3 blade (5 years old), which look like shovels in comparison.

These MP-60s looks like the answer, or a MP-60 (4-6) and MP-32 (7-P) combo.

Thanks for the pics. One open question - does anyone know if Mizuno custom fit their irons with Nippon NS Pro steel shafts?

That's funny, I was in Edwin Watts about a month ago. I was wearing my Mizuno hat and the manager was all over me asking me what kind of irons, wedges, etc... I used. I told him and he asked if I had tried the MP32s. I was like "no I think I'll wait to see what the MP60s look like." He said "MP60s????" I said yeah, the cavity back version of the 32s coming out this fall. He was totally speechless.

wow!

I was just about to order a new set of 32/30 combos to replace my super tired 14's so I stumbled onto the miz site to see what my shaft options were.. as I waited for the page to load, I saw that a new club was being released on the 16th!

After about 5 minutes on google, I found them here!

Thank you!!!

If the release date is the 16th, when will these be available at my local retailer? 32/60 combos NOW!!
