Best "anti-left" hybrid.

Hybrid for a, um....hookah.
Title says it all. My natural shot shape is a draw(although with a surgically repaired left wrist 9-10 weeks ago that may changeblack%20eye.gif), but when things go bad its "FORE-LEFT"! So, I'm looking for opinions on what y'all consider to be 'anti'left', or fade biased hybrids. I presently have a Cobra Baffler pro (20*), and Macgregor MT (17*) and am fairly happy with each, but like most of you GOLFWRX freaks, the search for the perfect clubs never ends. Me: low single digit to near scratch, 6'2", driver ss 120+ with plenty left and a relativley smooth transition (again, prior to wrist surg). I would appreciate some hybrid and shaft suggestions, new or used. Thx.

Oh, and before I get all the suggestions to spend my dough on lessons, please spare me the lecture. I'd love to support my local pro (and will, when I send my kids to his summer camp), but I'm more likely to jump off the George Washington Bridge at this point then take a golf lesson lol. I've taken plenty of lessons over the years with decent results, but I'm a husband/father/house/2 cars/career guy and can only play once a week or so in season and very rarely practice. I'm a decent player who can get around well enough, and I know my swing (kind of), and just want to tweak my equipment at this point in my life. In 5 yrs when I'm retired....different story. Again, thx for your suggestions on equipment.:hi:

I like the Titleist 585h, sets up neutral, have a 17 and a 21 with steel shafts. I also have an Adams Idea Pro 16 that I'm still trying to get used to, but I'm a big fan of the Titleist 585h. I think a steel shaft really helps them feel more iron-like than wood-like. My 21 degree has a 3 iron length rifle shaft on it and it's money.

LOTS of people complain about the lack of 'anti-left' hybrids... and I agree, this is a problem of sorts. When it comes to addressing this I think two things are important: face angle and shaft. Most off-the-shelf hybrids are straight out of the game-improvement mold: some offset... face angle square to closed and with a fairly soft, high-launching, lightweight shaft. Needless to say... better players, particularly stronger hitters, will not enjoy this type of setup.

I like TaylorMade's 2009 Rescue TP though, really nice hybrid. Using the FCT tip you can have the face up to 2° open and there are also some good heavier-weight shaft options: Motore F1 85 HB and Matrix Ozik Altus Hybrid. As a hybrid it's probably closer to a wood than an iron. My feeling is that it's a great 2 or 3 iron substitute... there are probably better alternatives for a 4 or 5 iron replacement though, I hear the Adam's Pro Black is good here. With a driver swing speed of 120mph+... shaft is going to be all important really... I'd be looking at something with fairly low torque and 100g+ in weight.

+1 on the TM Rescue TP. Being able to experiment on the range and dial in the face setting that is right for you, is a great benefit. I've got mine in the one degree open and flat position, which is supposed to put the ball 4 yards to right of center for a theoretically perfect swing. Compare this to my previous TM Burner 07 Rescues which, fairly typically, were designed to put the ball 10 yards left of center. That's a 14 yard difference which is huge, coming into long par 3's or into a narrow strip of fairway.

The TM Rescue 09 TP has been great for me. I don't know how you beat the adjustability to handle your concern. Additionally, the voodoo shaft is pretty good as well. I am tempted to get another but I just hit my 5 wood too well.

If you want an anti-left hybrid you need to pick up the first version of the Adams Peanut.

X 2 on this suggestion. If you manage to hook this club, it's definitely not the arrow. :D

This may be a stupid question, does the TM TP club come with the tool to change the clubhead or do you have to buy it afterwards?
Thanks for all the replies, and keep em coming. Many of the above were kinda what I had expected (Adams Pro, TM Rescue TP etc...), guess I better check the for sale section here or hop into 'the bay'.

And to answer the above; if you buy it new you should get the tool to change the shaft. If not, go back to Frankybagodoughnuts you bought it from, knock on the side of his van and ask for one.

you ho clubs, dont take lessons, and only play a little...
how about the Nike Sasquatch hybrid...i heard they were good for bs-ers
Um, I don't get it... There always has to be one, I guess.
I wouldn't say I "Ho" clubs, I buy 1 or 2 a year on average. I hold on to iron sets for at least 5 years. Putters are usually in the bag for 3-4 years at a clip. I've had my current hybrid set up for a year and a half. Wedges 1 and 2 years, respectively. 3w, I won last year, replaced the one I had for 2-3 years, and I go through drivers about once a year (if that). Hardly a "ho", when you compare me to most guys/gals here.
And as I explained in my original post, I no longer have the time to practice. Priorities such as my kids, are far and away more important than golf. I still love the game, but can only play once a week or so, in season. I am closing in on 40, and used to play a lot. Matter of fact, mu GHIN was listed better than +1 a few years back, but since I can't play as much anymore, I'm somewhere in the 2-4 range usually.

So, how does that make me a "bs-er"?? If you can explain it to me, that'd be grand. Just another hat I will wear with pride.
Anyone else have any serious suggestions? Thx.

I completely agree. I just got one from this site with a bassara 415 x shaft and was worried about getting it airborn. My ss is around 117 and I don't use x stiff but wanted to try it. I have a baffler 20* which is great for draws but got rid of the baffler 16* and replaced it with peanut. This thing is huge, I hit it farther than my 909f3 15* and don't worry about a hook one bit.

I got mine from the official used Taylormade site (pre-owned, to be technically correct). Anyway, you select the condition of the club you want (good, very good, excellent, or mint), get the appropriate discount from new, and you also get both a new headcover as well as a torque wrench, all included in the price. And a 12 month warranty. Pretty good deal, imho.

I'll add another vote for the V1 Peanut from Adams, as far as OTR options, the Pro Black and original Idea Pro have been very good for me. The Taylor Made TP with the adjustable face is another nice option as is the Bridgestone J33.

I've tried them all and in my opinion there is nothing better than the TM Rescue TP 09. At least demo one before buying something else.
