Sonartec Hybrid MD contest! Check it out!

Recommended Posts

My Name is Sven Nilson I work for Dave Pelz in Product Development for the Pelz Golf Institute. I am a 4 Handicap with a driver swingspeed of about 120. I am no Instructor but I have a pretty Good Long Game. Putting and Chipping are of course my main weaknesses working for DP.

My bag consists of a launcher 460 8.5 with 46.5" V2 exta stiff D6, 3-wood - Taylor Made 200 tour 13* x100 SL steel, Cleveland 18* LDI x100 SL, Cleveland HALO #3 X100 SL, Irons 4-9 Titleist 990 x100, Dynamic gold, Wedges PELZ 49, 55, 60, 64, the 64 is just for practice and show as it is my 15th club, I like to practice with it to help get my Lob wedge to the hole more effectively. Putter is a PELZ Oball Modified TriBall SRT 45" Belly putter 78* lie.

I feel I would be a perfect tester in the X category and have both the abilities and the facilities to give accurate and usefull feedback for Sonartec.

I am 6'4" 275 and usually need 1" over standard, with a couple of degrees up.

I have used many hybrids in the past and would welcome the opportunity to try sonartec.

Thanks for giving people the opportunity to participate in this contest, first and foremost.

My name is Mike. I'm 30 years old (31 tomorrow, -and yes, I am of course taking the day off to go golfing!) I play to a 6 handicap. I've been golfing all my life since about age 6. But, like many people, college partying and other life events took my away from the game for a while. I started playing again when I was about 25 years old, and have been absolutely addicted ever since.

I actually write a golf equipment review column for another site, as well as maintain my own equipment review blog: "Mr_Divot's Golf Gear Demo Zone"

I'm up to my ears in gear right now, reviewing for the Spring and Summer months, but I'd be more than willing to take a look at the MD hybrid. **Please consider me as a last resort though! I'd like to have other people get a chance to win a hybrid. I'm sure you'll have plenty of entries!***

I'd be in the "stiff" flex category. My driver swing speed average, as verified by Vector Launch monitors, is 108 MPH. (6'2", 220 lbs helps!! :) ) I have a smooth tempo, with a strong move in my downswing from the top. The UST Proforce V2 stiff tipped is my driver shaft of choice for a reference point.

Good luck to everyone, and play well!

Hello,

My name is Jason and I'm 25 years old, been playing for 8 years, with the last 2 being "serious", and getting more and more into equipment!

My swing speed with the driver is 105-110, so I usually end up between and S and an X flex. I take the club slightly past parallel at the top, and bring it down smoothly with a little lag, and end up with a Phil like follow through (holding club in front of me). Currently play to a 11.4, and I typically get to play at least 27 holes a week, and hit the driving range/practice area twice a week, so the handicap is on the way down!

My bag setup is below, highlighted by the new addition, a SS-07 14* (new, head only) acquired from a member of this site, with a UST V2 86g S flex tipped 2" installed by Joe Kwok. I couldn't be happier with this combo, as I have always feared my past 3Ws. My current hybrid is the 17* Mizuno FliHi, with stock stiff graphite in it, and my complaint is I don't hit it high enough to hold a green. I'm looking for some thing with a bit more loft and a bit more spin to get the height I want and ability to land soft and stop.

What makes me a good candidate for this contest? Three things really, the first being I love to visit the range and hit the course too, I don't like going 1 day without at least hitting a few balls, because my swing relies a lot on timing; if I lose that, ut oh! Second reason being my typing/computer skills, and time! Usually if I'm not at the course/range, I'm on the computer. Sad life to some, but I enjoy it! And the third reason, writing prowess. Typically in my line of duty, I will type 3 50 page plus reports on a weekly basis, and review at least 20 of them for technical content and grammar/readability. I do what I do because I'm an excellent written and oral communicator that gives constructive feedback in a way that everyone can understand it.

I would like to say thank you for this opportunity and hope to work with you in the future.

Hello, and Welcome to Sonartec and Erik.

First off I will say that I am from Canada (want to hear more? or will that preclude trying these)

My name is Jeff, and I am 47 years old. I play to a 12 handicap. My good days I break 80. I don't change my equipment often, but often enough. Putters, well that is another story.

My present setup utilizes 1, 3 and 5 woods, all from TourEdge Exoctics line, all shafts replaced with Accra T70 M4 (stiff). My irons are either Gauge Design NC-1 forged, or in the early spring and late fall I use my Callaway Fusions. The GD are shafted with Nippon NS Pro 1150 in Stiff. This is a very nice shaft for feel and "get up and go" trajectory. The Callaways are shafted with custom Precision Rifle at 5.5. I say custom, as my club fitter uses Rifle blanks, and sets them up like the Flighted models.

Why should I be selected (other than being Canadian :) ).

I have seriously been considering a Hybrid. At my age, while I still hit a 3 iron ok, I think I may benefit from a Hybrid. During matchplay tournaments, there are those times when you just need a trusty long club to stick it tight, and put pressure on your opponenet. I tried a TaylorMade Rescue but did not like the feel, or the results.

I look for solid, but crisp feeling/sounding clubs. I need a quality sound and feel. I would probably need a 21* model to replace my 3 iron, and I have been seriously considering the Sonartec. I just have not been able to try one yet. While this trial would appear to be with a 19* (2 iron/5 wood replacement), I would certainly know if this is a good product with the right playablity, and quality by participating.

Good Luck with your trial and the feedback you receive.

Jeff

I've looked at the MD on and off over the last half year so this piqued my interest.

My name is Q Liu. I'm 20 and was the team captain throughout high school. I didn't play my first 3 years in college but have made an effort to get back in the last year. I'm now a +2; I was a +1.6 right before college. You can see detailed specs of my setup in my signature.

I don't hit the ball far compared to my competitive peers - SS around 110-115mph. I'm not launch monitor fitted for any of the lofts/shafts because 1) it's too expensive since I only play the US Am and Pub Links and 2) I'm constantly changing my swing. Everything was decided through trial and error, though not to perfection (I'm convinced my iron shafts are now too weak). With a "weaker" shaft like the NV65 I need an X flex, so keep that in mind if you choose me.

This is my swing from last summer: http://www.qlat.com/swing.avi This was without much play for 3 years. The 3 things I've worked on fixing since then:

1) For some reason, my grip became really weak after those 3 years. I've worked on getting my left hand back to a strong position and my right hand to a neutral/strong position.

2) Taking the club straighter back. My old swing path put me in a good position to swing inside-out but I've decided to give myself a more traditional swing.

3) Left elbow breaking down, reducing extension and adding loft to the club. Ironically, I had never made a conscious effort to keep my left arm straight. Whenever I start snap-hooking the ball, it's usually because I forget to and when I make a conscious effort to do so, the ball flight straightens out.

My natural ball flight is a slight draw but I have no problem working the ball both ways. I have a pretty steep angle-of-attack with my short irons but it shallows out with longer clubs. I hit my long irons very well so something like the MD would be treated like a 1 iron (though I'm not sure if I'm supposed to hit it that way or with a steeper angle). A 19* would give me a club that's about the same distance as my 2 iron but with a much higher ballflight for really long par 3's or reaching par 5's. The Retro Raylor that I currently carry, I only got because it was cheap, not because I had hit it particularly well (which it turns out I do - 455 stainless just like my T60, all the way back in 2001).

I've been told by all my golfing friends that I'm too analytical (which I would think would be good for this) but I honestly think it's just them :)

Dear Erik,

I am Jason Bunting from Zanesville, Ohio. I am 35 years old and married to a lovely lady (Lara) and we have two fantastic girls, Cammie (7) and Cassie (3). I am a High School Principal and hold Bachelors Degrees in Environmental Science, Biology, Secondary Education, and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I was a Varsity Golf coach for five years before becoming an Administrator. I currently play to a 4 hdcp, run a mens golf league, and play about 200 rounds of golf per year. My swing characteristics are as follows; smooth tempo, good balance, driver swing speed of 114 mph average, medium trajectory. I feel that I would be a great candidate for this contest due to my ability to write a thorough review of the club. Due to the length and lay out of my home course, 6300 yards with a lot of 360-380 yard par fours, I would be able to hit a hybrid off many tees. I am also currently in the market for a hybrid to help me hit those must hit fairways and also to hit approach shots into some of the shorter par fives. I currently play all Titlest clubs (see signature), but was not very happy with the 503H and would be very excited to demo and review the Sonartec Hybrid. Thank you very much for this opportunity to demo, review, and possibly win a club that is tour proven.

Joe / Erik,

What a great opportunity. Thank you for putting this together and even if I'm not selected I will definitely be anxious to hear what the others think about this club since SONARTEC is not a brand that is carried by any of the retailers in my area.

I'm 31 years old and have been playing golf regularly for about 5 years. My handicap floats between 5 and 9 and I am a true range rat if there ever was one. It's almost embarassing to say that I practice over 20 hours a week, hit over 150 balls a day and am addicted to this silly sport so much that the local golf course is considering roping off a spot for me at their range. (kind of like Norm's seat in CHEERS) After all that practice my handicap should be much lower but after taking up the sport at age 26 and spending the first 4 years trying to teach myself how to play (note to self.....BAD idea....get lessons QUICK), I've spent the last 2 years trying to UNTEACH myself and am just now starting to UN-DO the numerous bad habits that I picked up along the way.

My swing is like my body...short and compact. My driver swing speed is averaged out around 105 but I can crank it up to over 110 when I need to. My tempo is average to quick...regretably too quick at times and I tend to get a little flat at times and fight a hook but overall I play SMART golf and can keep my ball in play and often grind my way to a good score (and also often beat players with lower handicaps). I'm the 9 handicapper that can throw down an occasional under par round (I shot a 68 a few weeks ago) and it drives everybody crazy. Hybrid clubs have definitely revolutionized the game and have helped me get rid of that nasty 2 iron that used to do more harm than good while it was in my bag.

I currently play a Callaway Heavenwood 20* and it has served me well and SAVED me from trouble more times than I care to tell. I hit it about 225 and will often choke down on it for anything over 200 yards. I use it off the tee when I absolutely HAVE to hit it in the fairway. I love it out of fairway bunkers and often use it to "putt" with if I'm a few feet off the green. It is definitely one of my most dependable and versatile clubs...perhaps a close second to my Lob Wedge. The only reason I play a Callaway is because that's what my club carries and I got a good deal on it since it WAS one of their DEMO clubs.

I am in the US Navy and am currently stationed at Naval Air Station "middle of nowhere" Lemoore, which is about an hour south of Fresno, CA. Because of the limited clubs carried by the local retailers in this area I have never had the opportunity to hit (or even lay eyes on) a Sonartec golf club. I know that they are all over the pro tours and are always noted on the HOT LISTs of the various golf magazines. My impression was that they were for the advanced players but I'd love to see if it could be a perfect fit for my game. When DEMO Day comes to town around here it is your run of the mill companies that attend (Callaway, TM, Nike, Ping, Titleist) so these are the only clubs that I ever get the opportunity to hit. I would love the opportunity to try something DIFFERENT and I would be the envy of everyone at my club to have a Sonartec club in my bag.

I would consider myself a "STIFF" kind of guy and I love the fact that you have a bendable hosel because I'm starting to consider clubs with less offset to help straighten out that hook of mine.

Thanks again for the opportunity. I promise to give your club a very fair and extremely THOROUGH test....heck 2 weeks in my bag and this club will see a years worth of play.

I'm game.

Currently a 40 year old 5 handicap. In the Bag, Ping G5 10.5* w nv65 s, Sonartec SSo3-16* w/NV65 S, Sonartec TRC 18*, Ping i3+ irons (red dot with Tour Flighted Rifle 5.5). I have been trying to replace the TRC for a couple of years now. It is a great club, but I am very inconsistent with it (the swingweight is higher than all my other clubs....usually around d0-d1).

I have demoed the MD a number of times as I have wanted to like it, but I have a very low launch. Everytime that I have tried the MD, I have hit it great, but very low and very hot. Off the tee, I had hit the demo MD 19 about 240, but off the deck, much less distance with lots of run. I am looking for a club that will hit the ball about 220 off the deck but with a bit more air under the ball.

The reason why? My 18th hole at my club....par 5, second shot has a layup area to the right, or you can go for the green (all over water) if you can carry the ball 210-215. My ss03 hits it too far and my 3 iron comes up just short. The MD that I had demoed had the blue irod. I did plug a couple into the bank just short of the green and also hit a couple of line drives that went as far as my ss03. I also want the club as a tight hole teeing club, want to hit it about 230 off the tee.

Can you help Sonartec? Put me in the S pool....

Thanks!

Erik and Joe,

I'm writing in the hopes of being chosen for this very interesting opportunity. First and most obvioulsy, Sonartec is doing a wonderful thing by providing the opportunity to 'demo' their equipment and I would be honored to be included in this project.

Here's a bit about me as a golfer, I'm 32 years old, 6'2" 205lbs with a long athletic swing. I didnt' start playing golf until I was finished with college, but it quickly became a way of life for me. For an amateur, I would say that I'm longer than most. My average distance with a my current hybrid is about 240 in the air. As I stated, I'm a pretty athletic swinger with a SS I try to keep around 115. In recent years, I've worked very hard on my game and have reduced my handicap to a .9.

I'm currently playing a Sonartec 3.5 with a Vista Pro 80X and love it. I graduated to the 3.5 from the 3.0, which still stands as one of my favorite 3wds. Although your hybrid interests me, I'm equally excited about trying your new wedges. If the Sonartec quality and craftsmanship hold true, I have no doubt they'll be world class.

As far as testing your hybrid, I belong to a golf course which I play quite frequently. My situation provides me some benefits for testing. First off, I have unlimited access to a range. But more importantly, I know precisely where my hybrid lands on each par 5 and few 4's. Being able to try Sonartec's offering next to my own under these conditions offers ideal circumstances for comparision.

Finally, and perhaps least importantly, I write for a living--well, not for my whole living, but a reasonable part of it. I work in Gov't Relations and Business Development and as you can imagine, this work requires a reasonable amount of wordsmithing. So in short, you'll have a reasonable expectation of a well written review.

Hopefully, you'll find my story compelling enough to include me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Humbly submitted,

Lawrence

O.K., I'll bite .....

My name is Mike Rueve. I'm 46 years old and currently carry a 3.6 USGA index I live in the suburbs of Birmingham Alabama and play at River Oaks country club and also often at the Robert Trent Jones Golf trail throughtout the state. This list of courses definitely would give me an opportunity to test the club on a variety of settings. My swing speed, with the driver, was recently measured at an average of 107 MPH. When I really "go at" one, it is around 112 MPH maximum. My 150 yard club is an 8-iron hit smoothly. As far as my current set up. They are listed in my signature, but I'll go through the set in more detail here. In the past, I liked to swing the stiffest shaft that I could, aiming at the left side of the fairway and hitting a fade. As I'm starting to age I'm starting to see the benefits of using a slightly weaker shaft, swinging more "within" myself, and working the ball more. I have a medium to high ball flight pattern and still prefer to fade the ball.

Driver - TaylorMade R7 10.5 degrees - Aldila NVS 65 shaft tipped 1/2 inch. D6 swingweight.

3 Wood - TaylorMade VSteel 15 degrees - Currently stock shaft (stiff). D3 Swingweight

Hybrid - Callaway Heavenwood 20 degrees - Firm Graphite (stock) D3 Swingweight

3-SW - BECU Ping Eye2+ Micro-Taper shafts all D3 swingweights except Sand Wedge (D6)

Lob - Cleveland CG10 with a very "personal" heel and trailing edge grind.

All my grips are Master Grip leather wrap slip ons. I really like the feel of these and use them exclusively on all of my clubs. I love to "tinker" with my clubs and very rarely leave them stock for long. I bought the Driver head from a member here and installed the shaft myself. I will more-than-likely re-shaft my three wood in the near future also. I do my own regripping and maintain the swing-weights on my set. I'm not really that freaked out about appearance of the sticks, more into how they perform and feel. I've been a "ping man" for quite a while now also.....

Now, why would I be a good choice as a tester? As you can see from my set-up, I currently have a hybrid that is very similar to the loft of the one that will be tested. This will give me a point of reference that most testers may not have. I will be able to give an informed comparisons on ball flight, shaft performance, and feel based on my experience with the Callaway club. At my club, I use my hybrid for several tee shots and from about 200 - 225 yards out. The only major complaint I have with the club is that I really can't "knock it down" like I could my two-iron. but the ease of use more than makes up for this short-coming. I also feel that my experience building and modifying my own clubs gives me a unique understanding of how the components that make up a golf club interact with each other. Also, I feel that I will be able to communicate this in a way that will be easily understood by the others on the board.

In short, and in closing, if you are looking for an aging golfer who is looking for any advantage or edge to keep up with the "youngsters". Someone who really "needs" a new hybrid. Then I'm your man.......

I look forward to the test.......

Greetings Erik from Sonartec,

My name is Jay Rohela, and I am from Ohio. I am 26 year old Indian-American (born in Ohio), and have been playing golf since I was about 8. I play to about a 5, and am a pure ball striker. I am 6'3", 190 lbs. and have about a 110-115 driver swing speed. I am pretty good in all areas of the game, but my strengths would be my distance, course management and putting. I have always been interested in trying out Sonartec equipment, but sadly live in a some-what small town where there are not much opportunities. Whenever I go to a demo day, I have to drive close to two hours to try anything. If I ever had an opportunity to try out your brand or knew you would be in the area, I would be there in a heart beat. This is the perfect opportunity to try out the Sonartec hybrid as I have been trying to figure out which hybrid I really want to put in play. I am a responsible guy who plays at a nine hole private country club, and would love the opportunity to try out the club with an X flex shaft. Thanks for taking the time to listen why I would be the ideal candidate for you!

Oh, what the heck... might as well give it a shot.

Howdy Erik from Sonartec,

Thank you for this opportunity... and for being part of the GolfWRX family. Deb Olson here, 46, from Massachusetts. My GHIN is currently 16.8 and that's up a few points since last fall, but down even more since the beginning of last season. The reason for that initially was a Taylor Made Rescue Fairway club added to my bag last year.

Since then I've been looking to add another hybrid and/or high loft irons so would love to have a Sonartec club made for me and would be more than willing to test it out - hopefully the rain will really stop soon so all our courses have a chance to dry out (we've had major flooding north of Boston/southern NH)!

Can't tell you my swing speed altho' I'm sure it's much slower than most folks that have posted. :) I have plans to find out but courses around here are just now getting launch monitors online so hope to get it done soon.

I currently play Ping ISK-K irons, A flex graphite shaft, Red dot, - 1/2 (got fitted for them years ago); Ping G2 EZ Driver, Soft Regular shaft I think it's called? plus my Taylor Made Rescue Fairway #7 & #5, both with ladies shaft. Putter is ongoing - currently have a YES Marilyn in the bag and dream of owning a Scotty or two since joining GolfWRX!

Had plans to get fitted for new clubs but my swing needs work first so will be putting my $$ toward that instead.

Again, thanks for the opportunity and if I'm chosen, I look forward to 'test driving' a Sonartec hybrid!

Deb.

Very glad to see you enter Deb. Me, I'm looking for a club that might serve my daughter well in a few years. Ah, who am I kidding? I'm looking for a club that might serve me in a few years when my own swingspeed drops below 140mph.

Novel thought of putting money toward your swing though. I've heard of people doing that, but don't make much sense to me. Why put money into something that don't come in a longbox? ;) Though if I spent money on lessons my wife wouldn't yell at me as much (unless she were to actually pay attention to the credit card bill, in which case . . . doubly-screwed :) ). Good luck with all that though!

Okay...I guess it's time for the ladies to jump on the band wagon, right Deb? ;)

Greetings and Salutations Eric~

My name is Alicia and I'm one of the Lady Moderators here on Golfwrx. First, I must say that since becoming a member here I have had nothing but an enjoyable and positive experience and am glad and proud you chose us for your contest. :cheesy:

Okay, now onto my equipment/golf profile. Hm...let's see, I took all of my woods out of my bag because I couldn't hit them worth snot. Outside of my driver, irons, wedges and putter, I carry hybrids. That's another monster all by itself. Two of the hybrids, the 4 and 5, I can hit pretty well. As long as I'm squatting like a bear in the woods, that is. I'm
pretty
sure I need to be properly fitted, but they were bought at Play It Again Sports for an astonishingly low price so who was I to complain?

As for the other (the 3), I'm afraid to take it out of my bag. At the range, I can hit that thing about 160-170 yards. On the course? About 50. It's like the darn thing has something against me. What...I don't know. Maybe it's the club...maybe it's me...maybe it's the course. Shoot...maybe it's the squirrel in the tree that keeps laughing at me. (I'm
positive
this is why I my handicap is hovering around 22/23. It can't be anything else, right?
:crazy2:
) Whatever the case may be, I'm willing to try anything right now.

My irons are steel shaft, which I love, by the way. The 4 & 5 hybrids are OEM Lady Adila graphite shafts for Adams Tight Lies Idea. The 3 is a Ram Rampage. Sorry, can't tell you anything about the shaft except that it's graphite regular flex. I know my swing speed is around 80. I stand 5'9" and have been told that I should be using senior flex in my driver and hybrids, but I'm not convinced enough to spend the $$ to find out.

So there ya go. Me in a nutshell. Please help me!!! :cheesy: I would love to be one of the chosen for your Sonartec Hybrid.

P.S. I should also mention that I've been playing for about 1 1/2 years.

I would like to be considered for the MD experiments. I am a 2 handicap. I am playing in my PAT in San Marcos, CA on June 5th. I am 6'3", 225 lbs, I use X flex shafts. I currently play what is listed in my signature. I switched to 2 Sonartec T1 wedges, (which I did a full review of in the tour forum,) with the intent of getting a 5 wood or hybrid to cover my 225-210 yardage range. I would be very interested in trying a MD hybrid. I am not sure when you are doing the contest, but I will be playing 2 practice rounds, one on May 30th, and the other June 1st and then my PAT on June 5th. I would love to try one of your MD's and use it in my PAT.

I am very impressed with Sonartec. I would love to have a set of NP99's if I could afford them right now. I look forward to new offerings and maybe a staff bag in the near future.

Thanks for you consideration,

Leading Money Winner Uses the Celebrated Md Hybrid to Win Again

Sonartec Becomes Hot Commodity on the LPGA Tour

NEW ROCHELLE, New York (May 22, 2006) - Bad weather and the challenging Wykagyl Country Club outside of New York City combined to provide a very difficult venue for the ladies of the LPGA Tour this past weekend. However, the leading money winner showed the world what she is made of by firing a 66 to secure the tournament victory by two shots. The 24-year-old Mexican national, who has finished 1st or 2nd in her last 6 LPGA events, once again used the famous Sonartec Md Hybrid as her go-to club.

With the introduction of the new LS-99 women's fairway metal, the company decided to put more emphasis on the LPGA tour by sending out "Big Break III" star Lizzy Uthoff to represent Sonartec on the practice tee each week. "Talk about results," said Bob Gotfredson, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "Lizzy has three wins and has increased our fairway metal and hybrid usage by over 200% in just three months - that's incredible!"

Sonartec is a Carlsbad-based pioneer in the fairway metal and hybrid market and will soon introduce the classic forged t35 model wedge with Yoyo Groves™. Their innovative Driving Cavity technology produces extremely forgiving high-performance equipment designed for golfers of all skill levels, including women and seniors. In less than six years the company has recorded more than 83 worldwide wins, including two British Opens. For more information on Sonartec and their products, please visit www.sonartec.com.

Hello, my name is Trevor Smith, I'm 15 and a Sophmore in High school. My swing is constantly evolving so I'll do my best to describe it. I have a fairly quick tempo and tend to hit draws. My swing plane, usually, is fairly upright. My strength is driving where I can hit it quite a ways. I hit the ball very high with lots of spin. My drives are always pure carry distance.

I don't carry any sonartec clubs at the moment, but that is partilly due to me loving the clubs I am playing right now. However, earlier in the year I was messing around with an old SS-02 and loved the distance and control, but it just went a little too high for my tastes.

I would like to be in the X category if that is full by the time I publish this post, the S category would be fine.

I held the #1 spot on our High School Golf team which was leading Sectionals by 20 after the first day (Second day is not to be spoken of...) but finished in second place (as a team). I had one of my worst round the second day with 20 more putts the second day than on the fist (26 on the first day) to shoot 74-90... No laughing....

Anyways, Thanks to all who ahve made this possible and I hope you choose me for one of the spots.

PM sent to you Erik,

a quick question just for curiousity's sake as I didn't understand the first post about "winners",

will all 15 contestants get to keep a 19* md w/ ust v2 at the end or will only a few of those 15 chosen get one to keep?

Thanks,

Adam

Congrats to the 15 who were chosen to be contestants. Looks like I'll also have to go another route to get a Sonartec Md . . . oh wait I already did! :idhitit: I look forward to reading all 15 reviews as everything I've read up to now led me in what seems to be a very good direction.

Adam, not all of you will get a new Md (with a UST shaft that matches your profile) and the first post only mentions the plural "winners." My guess is that there will be one winner from each grouping, but that is purely speculative. I'm pretty sure that all of you would be more than welcome to purchase an Md from Sonartec, but this too is purely speculative. Come on man, where you going to school in the fall, Middlesex Community College? :D The upshot is that all of the contestants (15 people) "will get a gift from Sonartec and UST as an appreciation to enter this contest." Good Luck! :hi:

Haha yes George I'm going to community college, or wait....no darn I'm not, can't use that excuse......ahh I'll have to go another route.

Hey just cuz we're ranked the number 2 liberal arts college in the U.S. doesn't mean any of us have the common sense to figure out contests. I just write the technical questions to be asked for some of these, lol, I've never had to figure 'em out before. All those other ones were ask the best question and win, easy even for me to figure out. LOL this is like one of those SAT problems if bill is 5 yrs older than Sue, and sue is 2.5 times......ahh forget it.

This should be a cool opportunity to try out the sonartec hybrid, and I am sure that whatever, UST and Sonartec give out to the "non-winners" will be great. LOL, anyone ever hate the way that sounds...."non-winners...ermm sounds dangerously close to los... ehh I can't say it.

LOL sorry if Beruo and I clogged up this thread with useless banter.

Not a problem Adam . . . you know me, I see an opportunity to bust balls . . . I gotsta bust balls. ;) I do remember some famous researcher quoted as saying, "The benefits of a liberal arts education is offset by the number of boneheads who major in the liberal arts." Then again, I'm just a civil-servant in his 30's trying to prevent the next generation from surpassing his marvelous accomplishments. :idhitit: Ah . . . such is life. Now, :D again.

Md is an awesome club . . . I look forward to reading the reviews (esp. CCT's). :hi:

We will have three winners of a Sonartec MD. One per flex judged on your feedback and responsibility of getting the club to the next person so that individual can test the club as well.

The X Flex will be a UST Utility 90 X

The S Flex will be a UST V2 Hybrid

The R Flex will a Copper UST Irod (current stock shaft)

All these clubs will be built on the Sonartec Tour Van and built to the same specs. Loft, Lie and swight weight.

Talk to you soon,

Erik :idhitit:
