Callaway Tour Diablo Irons and Brigestome J38 driver just ho'd

After getting my new pieces of equipment on Monday I have hit 1000 balls on the range and played twilight 9 holes yesterday. WOW Callaway has a winner on their hands on with the forged Diablo Tour Irons. Not that soft a forged feel at impact (my only small negative comment on the set), but long, workable, great look at address, and super Nippon shaft.

The driver is the JUST released Bridgestone J38 with 9.5 loft and the stock real deal Motore F1 shaft 65 grams. It is fairly shallow faced driver with a great straight ball flight. You can work it and it can be flighted well too. It is just as long as anything I have hit. The head shape is Pear for sure.

Real test today as I go for 18 holes at a tough track the IW club here in the desert.
The honeymoon continues sweetly for now.

How come there is no review thread for the Fuji Motore F1 on this site yet. Heck that shaft has been out a while.
Anyone with a link please post it pertaining to a members review of that shaft or chime in.

Those Callaway Forged Diablo's worth a grand easy.

Both new pieces of equipment get A grades.

The J38 is a solid as heck driver. I average 240 off the tee and hit 3 yesterday 275 with my average at least 8-10 yards longer than my Ping V2 rapture it replaced. Nice perfect trajectory with great feel off the face.

The irons....amazing. The stock Nippon Uniflex shafts are perfect for me, but I have a smooth tempo swing with 80mph swing speed. I think they will be a little soft for the bigger hitters. Keep that in mind if you are going to get a set. I say they play R+ or firm at best.
Great for me though. 77 was the score at a tough track. IW Club Players course.

These irons will be a huge hit for Callaway I am sure. My buddies hit them on the range and said what a great solid feeling iron with lots of distance.

The Bridgeston driver is the sleeper.......ssssssssshhhhhhhhhh don't tell too many! Let them all buy Callaway, Tileist, Cobra, Taylor Made, Ping......and out crank them!

That is excellent to hear about the Bridgestone. Would you say that it launched higher than the V2?

I play a Motore F1 75 in my Adams 9015D and I love it.

Yes indeed. I had a 9* blueboard V2 Ping and a 9.5 J38 Motore F1 and the launch for me was far superior in the Bridgestone. Love the fact that it is only 45 inches too. Screw a driver shaft being over 45 inches. You lose control.......unless your a REMAX LD pro contestant.

Not even close in playability and forgiveness. Bridgestone hit it on the screws with this one fellow golfer. I hit a nice semi high shot with a driver. I have played for years with a 9.5. the Ping was lower, then again who knows what exact lofts we are getting unless the face loft is measured. Great stick,and thanks for your comments.

Sounds like you have found a couple of really good new toys. Is the J38 very forgiving on slight mis-hits??

I have read that the J33 (prev model) was not the most forgiving driver. Just wondering how the J38 compares to J33 or other brands (e.g taylor 510tp or titleist D3) in terms of forgiveness ??

Out of the driver's you have mentioned, the J38 is quite a bit more forgiving.
Going head to head with the old J33 there is no comparison in forgiveness. That driver was not forgiving, this one is. It just launches a bit high ( not to much though) for a 9.5. Just a tad high.
It will be a sales hit and sleeper driver for sure.
