AP2 710s 4-GW from Edwinn Watts

So I stumbled upon a set of AP2s (710s) with Nippon ns pro 100s at Edwinn Watts the other day for $675 with a 56* and 60* vokey. They were very very lightly used, maybe 4-5 rounds at most. I thought they were a demo set, and the EW employee said the old man that returned them buys a new set of clubs about every 2 months and trades in his previous set. I offered them $550 for it all told them i would take it out the door right now, and after 20 min of deliberation the rep got the OK from his manager.

 

Just proves that there are some good deals out there if you are patient. I just sold my 2009 AP2s on ebay for $400 3-PW so that helped with the hickey i had from the new set.

 

Be patient, and hunt, there are plenty of safe/good deals out there if you are willing to bargain with people/research the product.

You can negotiate at EW? Alright, I never knew that..are most places willing to work with you on price? Congrats on the great deal, btw, that's awesome

That is awesome. I've always avoided Edwin Watts while on trips because there prices seemed high in comparison to others. I'd be interested in hearing what other places make deals like this.

The only thing I've gotten from making an offer is a 2 year old demo Vokey knocked down from 109 to $90 with a grip.

You would be surprised as to what you can negotiate for in a garbage economy. Companies need to make sales, even at the cost of a little less profit.

On all used equipment, at least for me, Edwin Watts has quite a bit of wiggle room and are willing to haggle. Ask, the worst they can do is say "nope"

On used equipment, why not haggle unless you think the price is fair. I mean think about it, if Edwin Watts takes a trade in and they can't move that trade in then they lost whatever they gave for it. Maybe the old man traded all that in for $500 and EW makes a quick $50 right away so that $700 set of irons he bought was really $750. Could they get more money from the right buyer? Yes most likely but you never know, at our shop most of the time if we can make a quick profit on something traded in we'll move is ASAP.

Damn...I bought my Srixons mint for $230 with DGSL shafts...a few weeks earlier, I saw a new set with KBS for $300...I probably could have gotten the Srixons for $200 (though they were from Golfsmith)...oh well, good info for next time, thanks!

I've negotiated on EVERY used club I've bought from Golfsmith, they've always been willing to go down.

Almost everywhere will negotiate. I bought my 52" 1080p LCD Samsung from best buy, because my friend who worked there said "if you go during a slow month/week and make a reasonable offer on a big ticket item they will usually work with you. " Took that information to BB and offered $1099 for a television they had listed for $1799 they countered at $1499, I countered with $1199 and they took it. Saved me $600 thats 33%... I always make low offers on big ticket items now.
