I wonder if Tiger has checked out the driving accuracy stats this year. Phil is ranked 187th with only one person on tour worse than him. Not much of an advertisement for the Fubuki... haha

Not to overstate the obvious but I think Phil is just playing to his strengths. Isn't his Fubuki fairly light, like 53 or 63? And Phil swings for the fences ever time he's on the tee sacrificing shaft stability/accuracy for serious distance. I think he was the longest hitter at Augusta this year.

I guess he feels that he can get up and down from anywhere...even a greenside bunker on the wrong green

Why would El Tigre switch from the whiteboard anyway (he won 5 or 6 times last year with it). He might be better off with a machspeed st8-fit (The square dymo has helped me off the tee). lol. What amazes me is that Phil was in the trees (and won), AK (T-3) and Tiger (T-4) at The Masters. They aren't really known for being very accurate off the tee (especially Phil). It is going to be pretty interesting this weekend. If Tiger gets halfway decent off the tee this weekend he has a pretty good chance to win.

Believe that his and Phils shafts in no way are standard Fubuki’s. For sure it is some sick proto just painted to match.

His irons are also forged by the hands of god using unobtanium from Pandora. His grips are probably special grips made from xperimental rubber with cashmere cord in it. I almost forgot his shafts are also probably forged by god.

His driver shaft is a 63 Gram X Flex Proto. Take it as you may but that is what he's playing.

I would GUESS they are playing the Fubuki Alpha. It's more stout in the tip and has a "tighter" feel to it. It's definitely an improvement over the original Fubuki.

63 gram? I'll have to see that to believe it. Not the weight someone with his swing speed would use if they are looking for increased control.

I did think I heard that Phil's shaft was 63 grams....wonder what the specs on Tiger's fubuki are? This could all be for not if he never sticks it into play.....

I work the 10 tee box directional flag at the Quail for the Wednesday Pro-am and the weekend. After Tiger tee'd off yesterday, a Nike rep came running up to the Hole Captain and myself asking if the Woods group had just come through. After acknowledging that it was his group in the fairway, the guy thanked us and hurried down to catch him. I know it was only the pro-am but he had a putter in his hand with the Method headcover....Tiger was testing yesterday. I know it's hard to believe, but maybe he IS considering a switch.

Was inside the ropes on the range Tuesday-Today and after his Pro-Am round the nike rep had 5 different VR tours with different FUBUKI set ups...hit a few terrible, hit a few good. But no trace of the Tour AD DI. All fubukis. And no Method - Stevie said staying with the Cameron this week.

all i said was the nike rep was bringing him a putter on 10 mate, and it was a nike method. whether he decided to use it this week or not, more power to him. there were a lot of questions coming up on this thread about the putter, so i was reporting the conversation i had on the course with the nike rep who was running the putter down to him.
