Mat, I think it is a college player. There are a couple of amateurs in the field. Sorry to threadjack....
The local guy to my area is Ben An, (he was wearing a sleeveless Pink Jumper in the photos from Tuesday) the current US Am. champion. BTW, the youngest ever.
He plays out of a local club here called The Concession, a joint venture between Nicklaus and Jacklin it is a very cool and new club, I am sure that you would fancy it Mat! Only a few such clubs have a slope of 155 in this country. Off the hook difficulty wise. Azinger now plays out of there and I heard that it took him several trips around to break 70.
We had dinner there recently and toured the facility, every Ryder Cup player has a locker in this mammoth locker room....lot's of TJ and JN historic articles including Ryder cup golf memorabilia. Wished I had a camera to snap a few pics at my visit there. The hello money is 150K US to join and a friend who is retired has conned his way on as a guest twice over there the last few weeks.

I really like the black widow grips. Anybody know if they are for sale at any Golfsmith or other retail store?

Kenny Perry dumped the Craz-E for a Kombi? Is he just experimenting or is this his adopted putter? If so, hard to believe he would dump the putter that won him most of those tournaments.

The tour black Laguna is very nice. It would be nice to those on the shelves.

His "original" Craz-E finally broke beyond repair and has been trying to find the same feel. He had three Pings on the green on Tuesday and for the Pro-Am on Wednesday he said he was going to use the Kombi for nine holes and then one of his Craz-E putters to see what would be in the bag today.


As for the spider grips, not sure if they are in the shops yet.

Golfsmith online will be the quickest way to get them in your bag. The are will be in the top 25 Golfsmith stores first then filter down to the others.

FYI. Kenny Perry has been in a full blown search for the next magic wand. In addition to trying a half a dozen different putters there, he has also ordered a special custom variation from Bobby Grace this week for next week.

I could be wrong but I thought the Green eyes RIP was the Beta. Alpha was the first, now onto Beta...
