Jamie Sadlowskid Edition

Got these pictures today from a friend that picked this driver up the other day. It is an Adams Jamie Sadlowski Edition (Limited probably). It is supposed to be a duplicate of what he used. I found it interesting that the loft he used was 7.5. Has JS photoetched on the face of the driver. The shaft is 48 inches long and is made by House of Forged (which I've never heard of). It is suprisingly light and while the shaft is stiff, it doesn't feel as stiff as some of the Cobra LDA versions that came with Zubak and Pavlets shafts that could be had through Sellinger or Cobra. He reported after trying it a while that it is kind of whippy at 48 inches and difficult to control.

House of Forged is a US company that has Matrix build their shafts.

Great feeling high launch/low spinning shafts.

I actually hit this same exact setup on a launch monitor. I was told it had a 48" X-flex shaft. Number one I have never used a long drive set up before and never swung an X-flex shaft but it felt pretty smooth. Added some club head speed and distance. It was pretty neat to see.

I hit about 4 balls with it on TrackMan and hit a draw on every ball. My speed was only 1-2 mph faster than a normal club, I wouldn't say I was flushing them either since I'm used to drivers at 44.5". It makes what he does with that driver extremely impressive as his ball speeds with the same club are 40 mph faster than mine.

Sadlowski uses a 6.5* Adams 9032LD head with a JS House of Forged XXX shaft tipped 1 1nch. The majority of competitors at last year's Remax Worlds used House Of Forged shafts. House of Forged used to sell old refinished forged irons, hence the name. Robert kent, the owner is a great guy to deal with, they also have a player shaft called the Patriot.

Wonder why they would produce a "watered down" version of what he used if was to be a true limited production duplicate. Even at 6.5 I'm surprised it still isn't lower. I have least two 5.5 and 6.5 9032LD heads with reasonable shafts in them that are very easy to use.. Adams must have had some heads they needed to clear out.. I'm sure he will be very disappointed in Adams and that information when I show him this thread.

From what I've read more than his swing speed (145-150 mph) his 166 degree shoulder turn is what helps with the incredible distances he gets.

I met with the National sales manager a couple weeks ago and at the end of our meeting he pulled out "an exact replica" of the driver Sadlowski used to win his latest RemaxLD. It was a 7.5* Fast10 with the HOF shaft.

I could have sworn that it was a 9032 head, I could be wrong though.

It's crazy that both Sadlowski and Jason Zuback are from Alberta, Canada, maybe it's something in the water here? I don't know where Sadlowski practises but I see Zuback at my range all the time, it's just him and a Cobra staff bag full of different drivers.

Could be the fact that they both grew up playing hockey.

A lot of the hockey players wind up being pretty good golfers. Not always wonderful around the greens, but many can really hit the ball a ton.. Possibly helpful is most of the ones I've played with over the years play golf opposite of their hockey shot..

Still pretty disappointing that Adams would shill off some make believe driver as a replica. Should have just said it is a whimpy version of the shaft he uses and the model head he uses but not the loft. I guess if they did that they couldn't rip people off for $349+...

think about it though, how many people are going to be able to handle a 6.5 or 7.5 loft with and XXX shaft? makes no sense to go production with that at all. i cant see them selling very well. i agree they shouldnt call it a replica, more an "inspired by" model.

I suppose since it isn't listed anywhere, the faulty information may just be coming from overenthusiastic reps. trying to push product and clear head inventory. While they have made some inroads as far as decent equipment is concerned most of the reps. are pretty mediocre to poor (based on 6 reps.. I have meant around the country).

I got to compare my 6.5 9032ld with my hof shaft its the mike dobbyn lt xx flex against that replica at miles of golf in yipsalanti michigan. The 7.5 they were selling was actually 8.8 degrees and the shaft at 48 inches went into range between high regular range and stiff and the kick point looked pretty low but i hit a lot of spinners with it. My 6.5 i got from sellingers was actually 6.1 degrees and my shaft was a little softer then xx but nearly xx range so i was happy. The biggest difference was just the launch angle my personal club was much much lower. So anyone thinking of buying the js replica i dont think it really is cause i dont see any 400 yard drives coming from that particular club..

BTW, Sadlowski plays hockey left-handed & swings right handed, he says that is why his wrists are so supple.

I grew up (in Canada) playing hockey lefty and golfing righty and I could attest to that for sure. The booming drives went away after I stopped playing Hockey for a few years though.

  • 2 weeks later...

i found the shaft, for an x flex, to be on the weak side. maybe it's the 48" length. watered down or not, it's a beast of a club.

What they are selling is a driver for the average joe who swings at 105-120 that think they are getting the same thing. He was using the 9032LD not the Fast 10 I know this for a fact because I was there competing in the Military division. I have hit this driver and it no way compares to his. The shaft is not a true X I have several HOF shafts in my Geek DCT Heads ranging from X tipped 2" to 3X.
