The Aldila R.I.P. is the best shaft I've hit

There, I said it
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge Mitsubishi fan. That being said, I have a brand new Kai'li 70 sitting in the corner that won't even get a shot at going in the SuperTri. I took the RIP out for the first time yesterday, and I can't say enough about how impressed I am with this shaft. It is very smooth feeling, up there with anything I've hit. Dispersion is tight on this bad boy. Perfect shaft for the SuperTri. I'm hitting it in the 1° open and 1° flat setting. I've never seen a hotter ball flight with any other shaft/head combo I've played. Fades with this shaft are very flat, and still roll out a good deal. I can hit it high, but I have to try to do that, which is exactly what I was looking for out of a shaft. Definitely very easy to hit stingers with, but I'm not sure how far they will fly distance wise yet as it started getting dark at the range yesterday. I'm going to play tomorrow, and will definitely need this shot as I expect it to be windy. One thing I'm uncertain of at this point is a draw of more than 10 yards. I don't know if I can keep it in the air, because it really knocks the spin down. I'll be sure to report more after my round tomorrow. :partytime2:

I will agree with this based on my limited experience. I don't have a RIP in my driver, but just got to hit a RIP 90X in my 3W and I am very very impressed with how smooth and stable this is. It definitely gives MR, Matrix, etc a run for their money in terms of that smooth, stable, low spin performance. I will go so far as to say it was as smooth as my Fubuki 73, totally serious. It also isn't as tough to hit as people make it out to be, granted my 90X is untipped, but I was still able to get it in the air decently well. I hit a natural draw and still got my usual shot shape as well as some straight shots. It didn't launch as high as my Matrix Ozik F7M2, but was more in line with my Epic FW, although the feel and dispersion was miles better. If I had to pick another shaft to liken it to, I'd say the HD8/HD9.

Took a chance on one off eBay, they pop up there from time to time. Check the BST here too.

Been gaming it since early November and loving it! The ballflight is exactly what I've been looking for, nice flat medium trajectory. I can still hit it high if I want one to ride the wind. I hit the ball left maybe once every 40 swings, not often and it is only left fairway, not hooking into the house that's OB. Every so often I get a little sway in my hips during the swing and I block it right but the ball still doesn't go to the next fairway like it used it, maybe just 15 feet in right rough. I play a flat fade for the most part. Like I said, I've lost about 10 yards but the consistency is well worth it. Now that the driver is set it's time to really dial in my irons. The Nippon NS Prototypes are just what the doctor ordered for me. Low spin, low launch for iron shafts, and super tight dispersion. Lovin golf right now!

Dispersion to me is almost the same as the Epic FW - low to mid launching and very tight, but the feel is worlds smoother and I'm pretty sure it spins less than the Epic too. I never found an 8M2 to try, but this isn't as boardy as the F7M2 I had, if you could even call the F7M2 boardy. Once again, I've only hit about 15 balls with this on the range. Can't wait to get out on the course with it though.

I just put a RIP 70X in my 9015D 8.5*. I had a PX 8A4 in it that I loved but it snapped on me at the hosel. The PX is now in a 3 wood and the 8.5* 9015D has the RIP. The epoxy is dry and I am going to hit it on my Vector in about 30 minutes. I can't wait to compare the numbers to the PX and the WB. I do not like my White Board 83X now after having the PX 8A4. I am hoping I am going to like the RIP even better. If not, the RIP will go o the BST and I will buy another PX 8A4. The PX is awesome, lower launch, lower spin, 4 mph faster ball speed, and way STRAIGHTER than the WB for me.

I'll post up some results here in a few hours from the Vector.

I had the original version in a 8.5* Speedline and it was a beast. I got rid of it because I felt like I had to give it everything I had every time I tee'd it up...I really wish I thought it through and not sold it. I think it would have made a great FW shaft.

Now that there is a 70g version, I need to try it again. I am also curious if the RIP in the SuperDeep is a "real" RIP.

For $600 retail price, I sure hope it is. Knowing TM, the TP versions of clubs do come with the real versions of shafts and this shouldn't deviate from that.

So is the phrase "RIP 4 Life" an oxymoron? (FYI, that is NOT me!)

Yes the RIP is the best shaft on the market. I have been putting this in every post that people have been asking and now that its close to release people are able to get there hands on it and see that I have been saying all along. They should be available in less then a month I will check for sure. Last word I got was mid April from a very very good source.

Here is my review. I am not 100% sure I like it better than the PX 8A4. If the dispersion is as good, then I will be happy. I loved the PX. The RIP does feel great.

For the poster above, I have a Matrix HD8 and the RIP is similar.
