Yep and loved it. Had in a 3 wood not the driver but was very long with a high but flat ball flight.

Good stuff William, I really want to lern a bit more about this and give one a try. I am hoping an experienced club builder will chime in with the profile info on this shaft. Some say it is like the pype, but others say high launch and contradict. Also, some PGA players are using it who traditionally played lower kick shafts, like R.Moore who has been using Ilimas and Quattro techs but now the RIP.

My launch monitor would say it is definitely not a high launch shaft. Of the shafts I have tested, it is the lowest launching, or next to lowest right there with the Project X 8A4. I have not tested a lot of the Matrix shafts other than a HD8 XX flex. It is lower than the White Board. I have searched quite a bit about the specs and they are hard to find. The torque is 2.5 which is pretty low. The kick point sure feels high. The tip section does not feel as stiff as the 8A4 but it is stiffer than anything else I have ever hit.

I just find it odd so many people are getting diff results, and again seeing professionals who typically play remarkably high launch shafts put it in play (RMoore was just one example, and he is playing the RIP in fairways now no less). I remember when Mezmorize was building me a tour club, he said he could set one up with a rip and it would go high. Maybe this one reacts alot to tipping and prep, like a Kaili does.

To me it was plenty easy to get up in the air. The version with the green eyes was very easy to hit a 3 wood off the deck.

My round was cut short today by a hidden tree root on the 8th hole. Hooked one of my iron shots (need to be bent 3° flat to match my Scratch irons that are out for a refinish) into the left rough near a tree. Ground was covered in grass all around so everything looked fine. Hit my 60° and immediately was greeted by a nice, big, hidden tree root that jarred my wrist and kept be from being able to play the rest of the round. :black eye:

 

On a positive note, my Matrix Radix 7321 showed up today, so now I have something to compare against the rip.

I can't speak for the others, but I ordered a small stock pile of SuperTri TP tips and just glue them on to new shafts when they show up.

I've never hit the Kai'li. It is sitting in the corner uncut. The RIP would be lower launch and spin that the Fubuki for sure. I would assume it spins less than the Kai'li too, and I do know it will launch lower than the Kai'li. I may end up shafting the Kai'li at some point, but I don't know for sure.

This just proves shafts are subjective. I purchased three RIP shafts and put them in three drivers, and sold every one on ebay. Nothing bad about the shafts, just did not feel all that great. I am a better match with Matrix, and that is my current shafts in all my woods.

Its a retail head. TP head if that makes any difference, which it doesn't. It launches higher and spins more than the Classic. I couldn't tell you by how many degrees, or how much spin, but it does go higher and spin more. The RIP really knocked the spin and launch down. Maybe even a bit too much. Just shafted up my Kai'li today to try.

I played it for the first time last weekend, and I liked it! Greens were pretty good, and everything was fairly green. I will play there more often! It's pretty forgiving. Heck, I shot 77 hitting 2 greens.

So the RIP is available in Titleist 910's as a stock shaft... real deal or cheaper version? i feels great. i ordered my 910 D3 with a RIP 60. hoping its not just a "made for" very good ball flight!
