East Club, or Clover Valley?

I will be in Columbus this summer, and was wondering if I should play 36 at East, or 18 at East and 18 at Clover Valley on the same day? I already have a certificate to play one round at East, so I am definitely going to play there. It's just a matter if I stay there all day, or try out another course. I haven't played either course, but have heard good things about both. They are about 10 miles apart, so time shouldn't be an issue if I were to play at each course. Any suggestions on other courses within about 20 miles of East would be appreciated. Especialy if there are better options then Clover Valley.

Make time to run over to Clover Valley after your round at Tartan East. Both are fine courses and I think you'll find Clover worth the effort. I find Clover to be one of the toughest public courses in Central Ohio. You can look into New Albany Links and Cumberland Trail, both are within 20 miles of Tartan East.

I am going to Columbus on a Friday morning, and playing The East Club, and ??? something else in the afternoon. I have narrowed it down to either Clover Valley, New Albany Links, or Northstar. They are all relatively close. I am playing Longaberger on Saturday, and going to play the Players at Foxfire on Sunday, so those two are already covered. I have also played Cook's Creek in the past, and want to try others.

Any more suggestions would be helpful...particularly picking between one more round at either Clover Valley, New Albany Links, or Northstar. Thanks!

Among your choices I would play Northstar. One of the nicer courses in the area.....like 7400 from the tips. Just a great course.

New Albany Links and Clover Valley are both very nice but seem to be slipping a little in terms of condition.

East Golf Club is also very nice but if has rained at all that course will be wet and slow.

I'd play them both. East is tougher, Clover Valley is a beautiful course.

I couldn't agree more with what you said. Northstar is one of the best in the area and most likely one of the best in Ohio.

The more I look into them, it is between Clover Valley and Northstar. Both courses look like they aren't lined with a bunch of houses, which we like. We tend to look at conditions first when we are selecting courses. It sounds like Northstar might be the better of these two for that reason. Thanks for the help

Yeah, definitely Northstar. It can be a bear from the tips.

One more request for suggestions. Here is what we are tentatively planning:

Friday.......18 at Northstar and 18 at East

Saturday.......18 at Cumberland Trail and 18 at Longaberger

Sunday........18 at Players Club

The driving between the courses on Friday and Saturday shouldn't be an issue, as far as time.

Pass on Westchester. I just don't care for it. I would/do play Blacklick Woods in Reynoldsburg. If you don't mind grumpy volunteers, Turnberry can be fun from the tips.

I like Eaglesticks AND Cumberland. I am closer to Cumberland so that is where I usually play. There is a deal for playing Longaberger and Eaglesticks though, so that might save you a nickle. I would pass on East (even with a certificate) if we get any more rain..it stays wet and we have had some rain the past couple of nights. Maybe hit Clover or Bent Tree since they are all in the same general area as Northstar.

Granville is another interesting track. Donald Ross (originally) design that they have only screwed up a touch. Champions is another interesting track but in a bad neighborhood (although I have never had an issue).

I would leave Eaglesticks off the list, too much driving. It is a nice course but not nice enough to warrant a trip.
