Actually, they have a great reputation. You were asked direct questions by me. Stop blowing hot air and answer them. Maybe you can explain why EJL does so much custom work during the Western / BMW.

Yes I presently live in SC and I love it.

Do you assume:

1. I never lived in the Chicago area?

2. I am not an award winning custom clubmaker/fitter myself, albeit retired?

3. I never did consulting work for Wilson Sporting Goods, golf division in the Chicago area?

4. I have no idea who Everett Lockenvitz is?

5. I have had not had the pleasure of sending customers to EJL and gotten great/positive feed back from them?

6. I do not know EJL is expensive?

Well if you assume/answered NO to ANY of the above, you would be wrongo bucko!!!

I still challenge you to go go point by point (you listed them) of your original comments and explain each a bit more fully and be prepared to further defend such rants.

When you impugn ones reputation, be prepared to defend your comments versus blow your challengers away with "stupid and prejudice" comments like you live in SC, so what do you know.

OK listen...

Idk if you've been here lately but the new shop at Cantigny is getting a lot of feedback. Expensive, unprofessional, and unethical. A person I know went there to order a set (3) of scratch wedges. They had the wedges in stock with KBS in them. He had ordered scratch wedges with KBS in them. EJL charged him for the whole wedge with the original shaft, and then for the imaginary "re-shaft" with supposably KBS. I see the receipt and I'm like how much worse can this place get. They never re-shafted them and charged him for it (wouldn't matter cause they are same shaft). Unethical. Tell him to go back as they charged him for two kbs's on top of the wedges that were already ready for him.

I could go through right now and say I'm a professional club-fitter too. Say I'm bff with Everett. Who cares! This is about the poor quality that EJL is know to have.

Congrats you "used" to live here. So do millions of other people.

5. great buddy, your friends are retarded or maybe in some miracle of a way they didn't get screwed over.

6. EJL is ridiculous expensive

Don't respond with how "immature" or "non-productive" these answers above were. Congrats if I spelled something wrong or the first paragraph is confusing. Get to the point. There are thousands of professional club builders in the US, I'm so happy for you. Cool if you burn for something in your next post. Great. Stick to the point "bucko".

They built my irons to the wrong length. I had my print out, specs and everything. Clearly stated EACH length of every club. Got them back at standard length. Nick measures them with me, each club is .5" inch short. He looks at my print out and it proves that it is wrong. Goes hmmmm this is wierd. Goes back into the shop for about 5-10 min and prints out another spec sheet that had all my clubs listed as standard length. He goes that is strange our sheet says standard length. I go nick, you can't possible be serious right now. You charged the sheet! He goes no, I didn't. I almost called the police. It's ridiculous what these people do. He tells me that I will have to pay $30 per club for my re-shaft. We go to check out and he goes alright that will $40 a club. I didn't think this could get worse. I go nick, you clearly told me $30. He's like well I really don't remember telling you that. I go it's in my email. Pull it out, $30. He goes well true temper increased their prices I can't sell these to you for that low of a price now without getting in big trouble. Nick you told me $30, he goes $40 now. I payed and got out of there. I couldn't believe it. Everyone I talk to I don't let go to EJL. It's unbelievable what they do.

If you need more stories let me know. These stick out the most.

I've probably sent 30 people to EJL and have never heard of such issues, but there is always a first time

All I can add is my personal experience. Over the years, Everett and Nick have built clubs for my entire family. I think I first went to Everett over 12 or 15 years ago to reshaft my Tommy Armour 845s with G. Loomis shafts.

99+% of all of their work has been perfect. Done right and done very quickly. However, in full disclosure, not every club was perfect in perpetuity. But when there was an issue, it was resolved quickly and at no additional cost to us. Someone told us, it's not the mistake that defines character, but the response. If that's true, then EJL has impeccable character in our book.

For example, yesterday, somehow my putter head became loose on a club Nick reshafted for me 2+ years ago. Might it have been the airline's fault? Maybe. Might it have been my fault, due to impact with the bottom of my bag after another missed 3 footer? Maybe. Might it have been EJL's fault, due to a poor epoxy job? Maybe. Point is, who knows? But this is what Nick did: Immediately took it apart, re-installed the shaft, and checked the loft and lie against my original specs. Asked me if I'd changed my specs and when I said no, he told me my putter was way off. Reset the loft to 4* and reset the lie to 69*. The fee for this: $0.00. Total wait time: about 30 minutes.

I understand some may not have the experience they expect in a club fitting. Fair enough. But for us, EJL is a first class operation with great service. Just our opinion based on years of experience with EJL.
