Antique's get a little refinish

Scratch Tour Department before and after

Well I decided that I would send my irons back for a refinish after gaming them for a year with the Antique finish on them. I settled on the Tour Satin Chrome and got in contact with Patrick. He was great to work with, and answered all my questions very quickly. I think the entire process took 3 weeks, and that includes shipping time. Very pleased with the results.

I forgot how much I missed these in the few weeks they were gone. My buddy decided we were going to aim for the 150 flag after hitting balls for 30 minutes or so. First swing I hit the pin on the fly. They feel exactly the same with the new finish as they did with the old.

They look great, not that the antique was a bad finish, but imo they look alot better now. Ofcourse the new pics are a little better too, so this could add to it.

I have some good outdoor pics of the antique finish, but didn't feel like digging for them. I'll post a better picture of the antique finish.

I hit the hybrid today that I got from you, and the Oban Revenge shaft I installed is very good. Very smooth feeling shaft, and I can hit it a mile high if I need to, but the stock ball flight is nice and flat.

Would you say the finish is like the current Vokey dark smoke finish? I am trying to get an idea of what they may look like in person if you could compare them to an otr club that we have all seen.

They actually look more like the satin Vokey. The sunlight makes them look black in the pictures. They are a touch shinier than the pic of Ryan Moore's SB1's.

Very nice! Do you have pics of what they looked like just before the new finish? Would like to get an idea of how the antique finish holds up after a year. I got the 3X black on my TD SB-1's and it holds up surprisingly well everywhere but the sole of course.

I didn't take any pictures before I sent them in sadly. The 8 iron was pretty beat up because I let lots of people hit it at the range, and fooled with the finish on the back too. The finish held up pretty well though.

Did they do any work to the faces or soles to repair any wear marks, sharpen grooves, etc? They look brand new!

They tumbled them and smoothed out some dings. There is actually chatter left over from before that couldn't be repaired without moving too much weight. The grooves were pretty much perfect when I sent them in anyway.

I only went with yellow because I got the grips so cheap that I couldn't complain. Plus I like funky colors. The grip caps are orange though.
