Tiger Woods with new shaft @ Quail Hollow

The new shaft has improved his driving tremedously!

Being reported elsewhere it is a Fubuki Tour 63. Looks to be tipped quite a lot being that you can see the white part of the shaft in between the grip and grey graphics

Yeah the driver is still not working for him. I'm surprised at this considering he's had 2 weeks off. Would've thought he'd have had time since then to test these shafts out and new ball before Quail Hollow. Not to mention get his swing in sequence. He'll be lucky to even make the cut this week.

No it's not the fubuki tour. Don't be mislead by the graphics. I talked to my buddy who's been on tour before and is in with some of the players. Tiger and Phil are both playing a fubuki prototype with the old fubuki graphics on it.

well the fubuki will be taking a tour of the bag room tomorrow. Can't imagine he'll use it tomorrow. It just goes to show you how different the iron swing is from the driver/fwy wood swing. This is why some days your driver is on the money only for your irons to be a disaster.

What you are saying is so true. Driver swing and iron swing seem to be totally different, at least for me. If one works the other doesn't. I love golf.

I think Tiger would be better off putting a shaqx in his bag because of it's profile. 83 gram x flex shaft which plays similar to the wb.

Haha, this is funny. He didn't like PM bombing it past him so it must be the shaft right? Wrong! He should switch back to Butch so he can learn to trust his swing again.

I enjoyed the coverage last night. The pictures we got in the UK were focused on Phil's group. Great to see some of the shots he plays, like the driver chipping out of trees! Nice to see a group having good banter between them selves and playing with a smiles on there faces. Tonight I imagine will be focused on Tiger's group, hope we get more of the same, instead of Tiger snarling, spitting and throwing clubs with his bouncer on the bag shouting at all the fans as normal. I loved watching Tiger as a youngster, I hope he brings that Tiger back and we see him smiling and enjoying the game again.

Why doesn't Tiger just go with a stick he can BOMB it with???? I mean, he is in the woods anyway, why not be closer to the hole? It must suck for him to play with Freddy C. and watch him blow it by...... Maybe he should get rid of the Nike Driver and try another brand of driver. God forbid right! Why should he care about the brand......his goal is to win.

I would love to see Tiger go back to a more upright swing..... He should be watching old Pebble Beach film.

He should go back to the original SQ driver he used back in 2006 and 2007. I always remember him hitting that straight and long, but I guess Nike wouldn't like that because they don't sell that driver anymore.

Tiger tries to swing 125 every time he hits driver, and comes up and out of every attempt! It's not his club or shaft...he can switch a million times. He has to hit fairways, playing at 85%. I don't think others hitting it by him matters to him at all, not that I care. He almost won the PGA hitting 3 wood all week last year. Stenson hit 3 wood to win the players last year. I agree Tiger needs Butch, dumbest move, among many, for him in his career. GO PHIL!

It looks like Tiger's obsession to find the length he had with Butch continues. Maybe one day he'll figure out that he needs to go back to 'covering' the golf ball with swing plane and not through the manipulation of his hands at impact. I love watching him play, but his search for more yards borders on Van Gogh/Mozart ridiculous.

That shaft is tipped a TON. Look at where the MDT logo is near the tip, and look at the white strip under the grip. I'd say it's tipped at least 2 inches, maybe 2.5

I disagree, a lighter shaft will not react the same way as a heavier one, especially with tour swings. A heavier shaft must be controlled and does not accentuate swing flaws as much as a lighter shaft.
