Looking forward to seeing/trying the S56. Have to say though, I prefered the look of the S59 to their 2 replacements and still have a set in the bag.

Hopefully lots of silly bargains to be had on the i15's before too long.

I've tried them all, and for me, I just cant beat Ping irons. Soooo solid.

I'm sure it's me...but there is a cheap connotation to anything named "K". Nothing will ever wash away the taste of cheap brought about by the Chrysler "K" cars...

The Answer irons look really good for a PING. I've just never been a huge fan of their shape and offset but those look pretty good at address.

I hope the K15 will match the TM Superfast that came out at $249... I think that was the first big OEM to break the $250 barrier with a new driver

$249 dollars so thats about what £189 over here in the UK. That means retailers will put it out at around £149. Sounds like the K15 is going to target those mid-range shoppers the guys buying Benross, Adams, MD etc over here. A good entry level set of clubs for beginners with Ping's reputation and custom fit options. Smart move by Ping. As long as people don't buy that range and leave the G15/i15 on the shelf much like whats happened to the Rapture series because of its high pricing compared to G15/i15. People just won't pay more, regardless of the benefit that might come with it.

No reps have any samples yet of anything. Our ping rep said their sales meeting isn't till the end of July and won't have anything to show until August.

You'd have better luck getting pictures of the alien spacecrafts at Area 51 then you would of new product at the PING factory. Not a chance that will EVER happen while you're there. If you ask them about the new stuff they'll more then likely tell you they have no idea what you're talking about.

Was informed today that in Europe Ping launch a new iron next month called the Ping GX. Its basically the G10 with conforming grooves and a new badge, no custom fit offered on it. Comes out the factory black spot, regular AWT shaft standard length with standard thickness 703 grips. Will retail for £399, getting Ping a move into a market that represents 25% of market sales within Europe. Obviously this is testing the water prior to the K15 launch this fall.

well my i10's have been in the bag for 3 years, but they are going to be gone now. the new ansers will be in my bag. I have already contacted my rep and put a set on order. He still does not know what the cost is until he goes to the meeting in phoenix in July. I will update you when i find out!

Please do not buy them without demoing them. I have hit two sets and now played with one set and they feel very harsh in my opinion.. First off they are without a doubt the highest construction and build quality Ping has ever produced. The machining is flawless and is obvious where the cost is. I don't know if your rep. got a 6 iron or not (would depend on if he has a top sales account---some got samples to show some did not).. If he did see if you can hit it... I first hit a demo 6 iron in Japan and while being forged I did not think it felt any better than a set of i15s and S57s we also had available to us... Recently I played with an acquaintance who had a full set that had ZZ65 shafts in them. I hit some balls afterward and they didn't feel very good (not as good as the iron in Japan). We played again yesterday and I tried them for 5 holes and was very surprised at how harsh they felt at impact.. The difference was very striking in feel (between the i15s and S57s) and also how extremely high the ball went with the Anser irons. I don't know if the tungsten sole or the air cavity between the sole and iron is causlng the harsh feel or if it is something else (I would have thought both features would have at least added to a soft feel if just from the sound feedback). I told the guy they were a nice set of clubs but I would stay with mine. I saw no reason to say how bad they felt since the poor guy had obviously spent a fortune on them..

In the 3-5 iron the Ansers seemed to have less offset than the i15s. From the 6-W they seemed pretty much the same. The S57s had less offset than the Ansers pretty much throughout the set. Most of that is a visual comparison, I don't have any real measurements to compare..

The last time I looked you could order them from Japan for $1640 (also for 8) plus $60 for shipping but no tax.... So roughly $90 more to have a set 5 months early for those that really want one. Some of the assembled in the U.S. stuff hasn't been all that spectacular---saw a set of new S57s the other day that looked like a trainee did the ferrule turning.
