$249 dollars so thats about what £189 over here in the UK. That means retailers will put it out at around £149. Sounds like the K15 is going to target those mid-range shoppers the guys buying Benross, Adams, MD etc over here. A good entry level set of clubs for beginners with Ping's reputation and custom fit options. Smart move by Ping. As long as people don't buy that range and leave the G15/i15 on the shelf much like whats happened to the Rapture series because of its high pricing compared to G15/i15. People just won't pay more, regardless of the benefit that might come with it.
That seems like smart marketing though, putting out the G15 and I15 a year early, letting people get hyped on them and buy them, then produce a cheaper, game improvement model later on, to bring in even more customers. Perhaps that was it, or not..just my take..
Sadly its now revealed the K15 will be the same price as G15 & i15 which will be getting a price increase this Autumn in the UK. The K15 Irons will be at the Rapture Price point because of the Multimaterial Technology. Big Fail here Ping. Super Game Improvement Clubs aimed at beginners or high handicappers so put a premium price so they just buy G15 instead. Silly of Ping to do that when they've already said Rapture Iron sales haven't been what they expected. Well simple, don't make them cost more then your other Irons. People will always buy the cheaper option in the current economic climate.

Just been flicking through the new Price Book. Why do Ping have so many putters and variations of the same putters? Also why on their new models have they got such stupid names e.g. Pickemup, Hohum, Y-Worry, Tomcat etc. Whats wrong with just having Model Numbers like Titleist or Nike? Who wants stupid wording and branding on their clubs?

Titleist names their putters, don't know where you get that number idea from. Ever hear of bullseye (and about 6 other variations flange etc. etc.), equally stupid names like "my girl", etc. etc. etc. No company in recent memory can get so many offerings out of the same design but with 20 different finishes. Wonder how many putter models old Scotty Xerox would have without copying original Ping and other company designs---probably just those branding iron looking putters. Real original names as well---has he used all the cities in CA yet?

Yes but names like Anser, Zing, B60 etc have long history and tradition with Ping, dating back to Karsten's days. Names like Wack-E, Craz-E and the ones above are just stupid. I couldn't look at a putter with that branding on it never mind game one.

I also don't see why there is a need for Redwoods, JAS, Karsten Series, I-Series, IWI Series, IN Series, Karsten 1959 Series etc Putters. Surely an Anser is an Anser so one is enough. I can't think of two many manufacturers that have that many ranges of Putters currently available. From August Ping will have 12 Ranges you can purchase from. All of them pretty much rehash the same model and design.

I could understand if they had a budget range i.e. Karsten for £50-£60 for a standard blade type Putter, then the new Scottsdale Range at about £90-£100 for those wanting a bit more and finally for the real serious gamers the Redwoods at about £150. Think Ping I trying too hard to cover every price point and get a share of every market place. Keep it simple Ping and you'd sell more as many Golfers are stupid so they don't need baffling with too much choice in a flatstick.

Couldnt agree more.

They get worse and worse and more confusing with every release.

I cant understand the pricing on the K stuff either. People will opt for the cheaper model.

Next set for me... Eye 2+s.

Anyone seen anything of the new EYE2 XG Wedges, going to be the same price as the new Tour S Wedges. Will these be more tradtional like the old Eye 2 Wedges? If Ping redo the Eye 2 Wedges why not give us the option for some fresh cast Eye 2 Irons?

I too am flumuxed by the K15 Pricing. I thought this was supposed to be a Budget Range to get a Market Ping don't currently trade-in or compete in. A Driver for under £200 retail, Irons for £300-£350 a set. Try to steal some customers away from the likes of Adams, MD, Benross etc. Give people an entry level Ping option with all the customer fit and support Ping is renowned for. Yet to bring another set of clubs out to replace one they've openly been disappointed with and then price it the same or higher (due to inflation) they are going to have the same issue. Who will Buy K15 over the Cheaper G15? You have more Shaft Options in the G15 range.

The Rapture V2 family, Tour-W wedges, iWi putters, i-Series putters and Rhapsody family will be phased out in August. I'm assuming the Karsten 59 series is the same thing. Don't know why they didn't kill the JAS line but they are killing off some putter lines here.

My local store owner has been told by Ping UK that K series woods will be the same price as G15s. They are not coming out as a bargain basement model, just a more forgiving version of the G series.
I saw a couple of Ping staffers at Loch Lomond with inserts in their Redwoods, looked fabulous, like the old tour issued Anseri versions from a few years back.

I didn't see anywhere that Ping mentioned anything about the K series being bargin basement. They showed it as a super game improvement series that was replacing the rapture super game improvement premium priced line. I don't see anything that Adams is offering in the bargin basement category. Their latest driver will be priced at $379 for their 9064LS. If you want bargin basement buy Knight clubs or other house brands.
I agree that Ping has too many putter lines and they are getting rid of quite a few in August. But the problem with the names must go back to the beginning. It isn't just recent things like crazE they have had names that didn't make any sense after the first putter anyway I-A. What sense does Anser make (other than you can't spell or the correct word didn't fit on the toe pad of the putter---ever hear of a smaller font?). From the very beginning Ping had names that didn't make any sense My Day, My Echo, Echo, Cushin, B-60. Those are as old as the original Anser (look it up). I guess they should have just numbered everything after the 1-A. The latest putter could be 2600-AEWBDEF. That looks a whole lot better than some silly name. I'm having great luck using ping's latest putter, I got rid of my 1987-BQQQWE, you know the one I mean.

Ping clubs look like car wrecks. Absolutely horrid design.
Car wrecks that win tournaments. Recent design just won two tournaments in the last three weeks including a major.
Also played by many pros that aren't on Ping staff. And used by a lot of top amateurs. NCAA individual champion, Scott Langely is all Ping.

Takes a lot of guts to call designs that every golf company has copied, car wrecks. Scotty, Bettinardi, Kevin Burns have made a careers modifying Karsten's original putter designs. Karsten also innovated irons with perimeter weighting.

I got a peek at the new Tour S wedges today, Heath Slocum is bagging them and I talked to him about them for a few minutes. He said he likes them over the Tour W wedges, but couldn't elaborate as he was in a hurry. Needless to say, I'm excited to try them out, they look great, more like a traditional wedge at address than the Tour W's, and if they perform as expected I'll probably pick up a set of them next spring

Today on the Twitter sales event they introduced the K15, Faith, Scottsdale putters, Karsten 1959 putters, S56 irons, Anser Forged irons, Tour-S wedges and Moxie Jr. So it looks on the surface like they are dropping 2 lines of putters and replacing them with 2 lines of putters, which shouldn't do anything to reduce the confusion about all the putter lines and how they are different. The twitter page also confirmed the Anser irons won't be for sale in the U.S. until November.

I've posted a lot of pictures of the Anser set I had about a month ago. The reps. that had the equipment early (May time frame) for their large accounts were not allowed to have pictures taken of it. On this site are tons of pictures of the S56 and S Tour Wedges. When the reps. get their samples in August everyone can take pictures of the stuff because it will be officially announced. I will have one of the first sets of S56s and S Tour Wedges early in September, but by then they will be old who cares news. I won't play the S56s because I don't like ping irons but will probably play the wedges as those are outstanding (based on a handful of balls)..
soooooo what will you do with these S56's that you don't plan on playing??? gifting them to a random WRX member? :D

I will probably hit a few balls with them (like I do with all Ping irons since the eye2, which was the only ping iron set I ever played) and then sell them to a neighbor who is a ping nut and will be happy to get them. Probably just charge what I pay for them unlike the Ansers that are bringing a premium especially since they aren't going to be available until November. Love Ping woods, fairways, putters, some wedges, but never have liked the irons.

Saw a picture of the K15 woods. As read in a comment on another thread, they do look an awful lot like component heads - very Maltby-esque look to them. Visually, just not doing it for me.
