Least expensive courses in Hilton Head?

looking for inexpensive courses to play on my vacation. Any part of the island is ok, but for reference, we are staying in Palmetto Dunes. Definitely under $100, would like under $80, and would be great under $60.

Take a look at the courses on the mainland in Bluffton (only about 10 miles or so). Those courses are nearby, but less expensive than those on the island itself.
Crescent Pointe and Eagle Point are both good courses that I have played and can recommend. You can't go wrong with either one. Personal opinion: Crescent Pointe is the better of the two. I last played both late last summer.
Old South is also a pretty nice course. I played it summer before last.
Rose Hill was OK a few years ago. However, it closed for a while and re-opened last year. I don't have any current info, but you may want to do some research on it.

Hilton Head National is very good ! located right next to the Tanger outlets on 278. 3 good nines there and always in great shape. On the island is usually over priced. Palmetto Dunes will run spwcials sometimes as well.

Off Island in Bluffton is a good bet for less expensive play. I can second Eagle's Pointe, but haven't played Crescent....On Island that I've played but can't really remember price are Golden Bear at Indigo Run and the Fazio and Jones courses in Palmetto Dunes.. I was happy with each of those.

Use Last Minute Tee Times on Hilton Head Island. You can do an internet search for them. You call them in the evening, for left over tee times the next day. They have a lot to choose from. I was there in late April, prime time, and played a couple of rounds at Robert Cupp and Arthur Hills at Palmetto Hall, for exactly $80 each, in prime time, about 8 am. Both excellent courses, great practice facility, great condition.

I also played a round for about $70 - half price - also early morning prime time, at Palmetto Dunes at the Jones course. Used a half price walk on coupon from an area golf publication, I just can't recall the name of it. But I picked it up at the South Carolina Welcome Center on I-95 going north from Georgia, and located just a couple of miles from the turn off for Hilton Head. They also had a two for one buddy coupon as well.

Lastly, you can definitely get better rates playing later in the afternoon, and it is less busy then. It just depends what constraints you might have from other family members. You might also get a three or four day pass which will be cheaper.

I love Palmetto Dunes and always stay there, but in my experience, the "rack rates" for their courses are expensive if you don't find some type of deal.

Cheapest I know of is Island West................................................. and CHEAP is what it's all about............ good luck.

If you want to play the Palmetto Dunes courses, grab a copy of the Golfers Guide (You will find them everywhere in HHI). There is a coupon inside that allows two to play for the price of one. Warning, they remove the coupon from the copies in the PD pro shop. There are also promotion codes for a few of the other courses in the book.
