Mine was the Wilson Staff PX3. Unlike many others I did not find it's successors (Zip, C25, etc) to be quite the same. I have played the 50 Elite yellow most of the last two years and will go with the Duo yellow this year and the next coupe of years (I have stocked up).

Nike Feel/Speed. I don't remember anything about the composition, but I could really dial in my short game with it. Ball would land like a sack of dirt on the greens.

Titleist DT. Great ball. All around performance. Pro told me years ago, " there will always be a Titleist in a red box". Sure enough.
Use others today, but when I see that red box it reminds me of some really good times.

2005 ProV1x and Project 5/Lethal. No question. The Lethal is amazing - low-mid spin off the driver, fantastic feel across the board, and perfect around the greens.

2013 ProV1.

I'd rather play that ball than any other of the many, many balls I've used or tried. The reasons it is not the ball I use now are:

1) It costs $4/ball. Even buying on a 4-for-3 dozen deal or similar "bargain" it will cost $2.50-$3.00/ball.
2) It does not come in a yellow color and over time I've come to really, seriously prefer the easy visibility of a yellow ball.
3) I do not practice my wedge game enough to get consistent behavior out of a "Tour" ball on partial shots around the green.

In all honestly, the $4/ball is the main reason. I paid well under $1/ball for my stash of yellow DT Solo X-outs and if I spend much more than that I find myself spending extra time looking for lost balls, worrying about hitting over water hazards and otherwise fretting over the prospect of an expensive golf ball being gone. Golf's a hard enough game without treating Every Ball As Sacred.

But if I went back to spending my lunch hour a couple times a month practicing my wedge game and could get use all the performance of a "Tour" ball I'd play the 2013 ProV1 regardless of cost of "whiteness".

The Callaway-made TopFlite Gamer V2 is my all-time favorite. If it was still made by Callaway (the Dick's version gets mixed reviews) and came in yellow (see avatar) it would still be the ball in my bag.

Pro v1. I live on the Monterey Peninsula and you know how windy it can get. The Pro V still maintains a penetrating ball flight. Simply the best. For cheaper balls I like the Pinnacle Exception.

I agree on the Maxfli HT Balata. They perform magically but seemed to have a very delicate cover, either that I was hitting them thin all the time. They did seem to cut easy, I think I cut one putting it on the tee.
