Black or Metal

Rife Barbados CS

I'm looking at purchasing a Rife Barbados CS putter, and can't seem to decide which version to get. I know the two color choices are mostly just cosmetic, but I've yet to been pulled to one side. There is the black version, and the metallic version. They can be seen here: http://rifeputters.c...roducts/island/

Does anyone have an opinion on what finish they game/like?

Does anyone know about the finish on the black version? Is it just paint?

Sorry if this is a boring/crappy topic, but I was just interested in seeing if anyone had a take on it. Thanks!

I actually like the black finish better but I could swear that the silver ones feel softer..even though they are made of the same metal.

I have never hit a black one, but bought a metal Aussie, wish I had the black. THe glare can be pretty serious off the metal one.

The white lines really stand out on the black model.

I think you should pay attention to how the shaft looks against those colors. In this case I'd go with metallic because the gray steel shaft fits in to the overall color scheme and wouldn't draw my attention away from the site lines.

I have both and find that I prefer the standard finish although I torched mine which makes it even better. :)

 

 

 

 

I don't find one softer than the other during use but I will say that it's pretty hard to not line up the black version well as the lines really do stand out.

 

I have white Iomic grips on both and they really look cool on the black version.:beach:

Yup, black is paint. The sole is polished. Better contrast and just a bit of feel difference to the highly sensitive. This is said to be due to the bead blasting of the face post painting.

Either way a fine tool for the cost.
