Bought G15 when should have got i15

Got caught up in the PGA Tour craze of going for SGI irons. I dont really take a divot and the wide soles of the G15 dont really suit the way I hit it. Its my fault as I hit both before buying but thought if Tour players are using them well I certainly need all the help I can get. The i15 would suit me better I reckon as I came from 16 years with Eye 2+'s and as a 6 handicap, I probably could have continued using something that didnnt have a wide sole.

So while we are not Tour players, its my beleif now that certain players require certain specifications and perhaps wide sole irons dont suit all player types. There are certainly some very good players at my club that are very low or scratch that play blades and I dont beleive that they would play better with GI or SGI irons. I wrongly beleived that a SGI iron would make the game easier, I now realise its as Trevino once said "ïts the indian not the arrow"!!

amen brudda...KJ Choi plays the G15 on tour, but everyone has different swings. I recently switched to the i15, hate em....going back to more of a blade club

I used to play blades (Cleveland cg1's) and I now play I15's. Love em ! Wouldn't want to go back ...

dang, I have a friend that just did the same thing. Now he has his Brand New G15's for sale on the BST for Cheap. The dude is a club ho!!!!! Somebody's going to get a really good deal on those clubs

In spite of what others might say here because your sort of poo pooing CB's and Ping, you're right. What you missed was tour players don't play what you bought retail. All of Pings tour players, like other OEM's get their clubs fitted and custom built to preferred specs. I am a sweeper so understand the effective influence that comes with Pings wide soles. I can't stand wide soles and much bounce on my irons.

You sir are now an Indian, like the rest of us. Do what an Indian does when playing wooden less then perfect arrows. Adapt and flatten your swing plane so some of the bounce and sole won't be as influential.

I'd sell ya mine if you weren't in Australia. 3-UW + 54/58 TOur W wedges with KBS regs....

Doesnt your store have a return policy? At least theyre Pings so you wont lose too much money replacing them.

I came from G15's.....went i15's about a month ago, best decision ever. The thing with Ping's....G15's in general, is that they will sell QUICK in BST or eBay. I posted mine on eBay for $200 less than new, and sold in 3 hours.

You might take a hit, but it's well worth it if you can't even hit the damn things.....

Hmmmmm...i have a set of i15s 3-pw with the a nice grind from ping wrx ( B-grind which narrows the sole) and equipped with KBS stiff shafts, if u have something similiar in G15s, I definitely would trade u straight up !!!!!

Wow. Someone with the most forgiving clubs on the planet, and he's not playing well with them.

What does this tell us? Perhaps different people, with different swings, prefer different clubs???

Wanna thrill? Buy Mizuno MP68s, 7-P; 52s 6 and 5, and MP Fli Hi 4i.

I have a sweeper type swing and was thinking about the G15's and I wondered if they would suit my swing type. I currently play Cobra SSI's and they have a pretty thin sole compared to many. I have no trouble getting the ball in the air, just wouldnt mind a little more forgiveness. Ideas?

I am a sweeper as well and if my experience is anything to go by, I would suggest that they would not suit. Certainly a very forgiving club and an excellent one in the right hands, but the way I swing they just dont suit me at all.
