And yes Its awesome
I always wondered about this club, until i walked into golfsmith with a 906F2 15* that i had it up to here with... There it was sitting on the used rack in all its glory, 58.92$ I even got 4 dollars back. Today i played with it here in Alameda at the Earl Fry course, and shot a personal best 74 on this track. I could not miss a fairway, I hit 11 fairways with it, and all the tee shots were within the 245- 60 range with one i really got a hold of and pushed out to 275. I am in love, Its like the greatest 3 wood off the T ever. I almost never use the 3w for anything but T shots,(ignite T60 Harrison mugen) but the results were good but never this good, High straight bombs, even worked it right to left on two dog legs. If anyone gets a chance to try this gem, I would give it two thumbs and two big toes up... I know they are pretty tough to find, but well worth looking for anyone struggling off the T. Its literally point and shoot. The club is shafted with a NV 65 stiff flex .335, and I measured it and its 44 inches. I have never cared for the NV but in this club its a cannon, Very smooth and easy to load, And it never got away from me even when i swung hard. Has anyone else tried one of these? You should!

I feel like i found something that needs to be shared. Good luck shopping WRX'ers

Yeah, i thought that the 16 degree loft of the 2wood would be a little high, but i was launching it on a rope, very nice trajectory. Ive been told that off the deck this thing will really perform, but i haven't had the chance to try it, 44in is a little long to give me a ton of confidence hitting it off the deck. What a cool toy. I let my playing partners try it, and they were hitting it further than their drivers, Burner TP 9* and my other friend had 983k. We were all very surprised, very. They both proclaimed that they would be shopping for one in the near future, i told them good luck since it took me about 6 months to find one! Im sure they are around, but i couldn't imagine someone selling one, i doubt i will get rid of mine.

i cant imagine it would be easy to hit off the deck. i can hit my houdini off the deck, but its not easy to elevate it at all, and i dont hit it very far at all. can you take a light swing with it? before i improved with my irons I used to hit my Houdini on any par 3's 180 or longer. that thing hits the ball so dang high it will actually stop on most greens. it was really pretty accurate and I probably still should use it, but i figure i need to continue to hit my irons if i want to improve.

I've had the 2-wood for four years now I think--since they first came out. The only club I will never get rid of. What's odd is that i use it with the stock R-flex yellow shaft and hit a nice high draw all day long. Theoretically I shouldn't even play a driver as this is consistently anywhere from 240 to 260 depending on wind and terrain. The 2-wood is a different head shape than the lower lofted XLs. It is shaped more like the first generation HiBore. I've never gotten on well with the XL drivers and I've tried a bunch so I have a first generation HiBore head coming. Looking forward to seeing if it feels more like the 2-wood than the XL's do. Great club though. And yes, they are rare but that's because they are sooooo good.

Couldn't agree with you more, I plan on using it as my primary driving club.... I looked on ebay for one of these for ever and all i ever found was headcovers? Yet no clubs... I just lucked out finding this one in the used section. I'd love to see what this thing could do with a hot rod shaft in it, but its going so good right now, there is no way im gonna mess with it. I'm surprised there wasn't more fanfare for this sneaky weapon, i did a couple of searches on this site and only found like 2 post's about it. I guess pride keeps most people from trying or buying something that would be considered a senior's club ... but i have gladly swallowed mine for more consistency off the T. What a treat.:beach:

OK 2 wood fans, i have an update... The honeymoon is over, and im still in love. I am still getting the lazer accuracy and 260 distance (toe or heel it never changes) This club has changed my golf game after struggling off the T for the last 2 years, and wasting Hundreds of dollars on drivers(second hand of course).

For all of you that are interested there are 2 nice condition examples on ebay right now, for less than 80 bucks... you won't be sorry.

Cleveland HiBore XL 2 Wood...perhaps one of the best underrated and best kept secrets in golf.

Could not agree more ... I own 2 - They are probably my favorite 2 clubs. The most rediculously accurate / easy to hit club I own (the way I have them set up)

Both of mine are hotmelted to 215ish grams - both 41.75ish inches - 1 has a Diamana 103X & the other Fuji Tour Pro-110.

They are both amazing .. I prefer the Fuji - but I wouldn't kick either out of bed.

@ROBOPTI- now that's impressive. Playing at 41.75 is the shaft a bit stiff?
I should get a 2nd b/c if anything happened to mine I'd be (rhymes with spit) out of luck. I just bought a RIP shaft and gonna have it reshafted. They've become so hard to find. I've let friends try mine and have had 4 friends purchase one. One of my buddies hits his 280+ no problem. Just an amazing go to club.

Your right about the auto 260, I can push a driver out there pretty good, but do i need to that often? It was one of those experiences where i was litterally standing there laughing after i hit the shots, much like the first time i tried a hybrid, and that was a hibore also FYI.

The OP is talking about a Cleveland HiBore 2-wood, which is really a mini-driver, and a fairway finder.

And I bought one for my daughter, and it is still her favorite club all these years later.

Honest question, as a new member, how did you find this 13 year old thread to revive?

but back to the thread, that hibore 2 wood still sits in a storage bag of mine.  I like the new mini drivers way better, but that sure was a fun club.  I haven't pulled that one out in awhile.  Probably about 13 years🤣.  I think it's time for a revival.

Holy "necro" thread revival!

Kudos to @race2theacefor doing the search for relevant threads (instead of creating a newer duplicate thread)
