PGA Championship Pics of Tour Vans

Nike and Scratch inside the trailers.

Just got back from the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Couple observations:
--Tiger still has a huge following
--JD also has big crowds
--The course was amazing
--With no wind, the players were hitting lots of fairways
--A number of spectators fell victim to the rough terrain, more as the week moves on I'm sure
--Monday is a slow day for everyone
--Tour Van employees have access to everything and everywhere at the tournament. Very interesting job.

I had no idea the sponsors "scripted" their players' apparel for each day. Is that correct or am I misinterpreting that?

If true, no need to get married when the tour van handles your laundry for you

Yes they script the players apparel for each day. They were loading up the lockers for the weekend while I was visiting with them.

They also have all the caddy gear, bad weather gear, etc there for all their players.

"scripted" outfits, even down to the hats is the BOMB! When I go on a golf trip, most of the pain in the arse is figuring out what to where, what outfits to bring, etc. Not for these guys apparently ... just show up with your clubs, we've got your outfits all set up and waiting for you, rain gear and all! Sick.

I wonder if the pros keep the clothes or just give them back after each weekend? If they give them back, I wonder what Nike does with them?

Awesome pics man, thank you for those. I would LOVE to have 2 minutes to grab what I wanted. I heard a year or so back they script players' outfits (this was in reference to Tiger) about a year ahead of time. As in, this time last year, Nike already knew what Tiger will be wearing this coming Saturday (assuming he makes it that far..)

I noticed the notches in the Diamana shafts...is that the spine by chance? Is that what the notch in there means?

I'm sure those guys get worked like mules during these weekends, especially majors, but it would still be pretty sweet to have a job like that. Wonder what happens if anything goes 'missing' or if there's so much chaos going on, no one would really notice if a head or a shaft or two went missing...

They don't work on the weekends, they spend that time traveling to the next event. Tour Vans leave on Wednesday nights. Monday is a slow day, but Sunday set-up and Tuesday and Wednesdays and take down are really busy and long days from the sounds of things.
