More offensive on course: smoking or music?

I smoke, so you can bet that smoking doesn't bother me, but please save your butts until the nearest trash can! I hate to see cig butts all over the course. It'll ruin it for everyone else.

I was behind a foursome of shirtless beer swilling hillbillies who also had a radio blaring on one of their carts. I'm sorry, but if you want to jam out to the tunes, do it elsewhere, not on the golf course. I'm in a band and I love music, but not while I'm playing golf, thank you very much. The guy I was playing with is a smoker and it never bothered me a bit. I really don't think second hand smoke is much of a threat when you are outside, unless the guy is shotgunning his hits into your face. If you want to enjoy music while you play, use a pair of earbuds, no prob. As for the weed, knock yourself out, then let's play for some cash! I'm not a smoker (of either) anymore, but those who think smokers of the bud are evil doers, are usually the same guys drinking like fish and then hopping into their car to drive home. I'd rather play with a pothead than a drunken idiot, not to mention sharing the road.

Music on the course I've never experienced. Seems strange to me that someone would have open speakers in their cart.

I smoke and I strip all of my butts and stick them in my pocket. If I'm on the green and need to put it out I walk to the fringe and knock the cherry off into the rough. I have had ash fall off of my cigarette and on to the green, I usually use my putter to break it apart so it blends in. I don't see anything wrong with this unless the ash harms the green.

The thing that really gets me are the people who are too lazy to fix their ball marks on the green.

Since im assuming that the poll implies that either activity is being done to the extent that it bother me, I went with smoking. I hate smoke with a passion. Having said that, most of the guys I play with smoke, and I dont ever really realize it since they arent all up in my face. Likewise, I couldnt care less if somebody wanted to listen to music unless it was particularly distracting to me. Same goes for weed. Do whatever you want, just be mindful of the people around you. I couldnt count the number of times that ive been paired up and after a few holes and the guys get comfortable and ask me or my partner if we mind it if they light up a little weed. I dont mind. Just dont blow it in my face.

I voted music... I rarely care about smoking as long as you're disposing of things properly, not standing upwind of your buddies, etc.

The worst thing I experienced this summer was a guy with a radio, speakers, and the Seattle Mariner game blasting down the fairways.

We have signs posted on select holes at our city courses that say "This hole is a designated smoking hole", not kidding. What a joke! No smoker is ever going to abide by that. And are people really that annoyed by cigarette smoke and music? Geez yall let's relax for a minute or two, it's supposed to be fun out on the course.

The smoke, music, sunflower shells, not repairing ball marks... these things are mildly annoying. The reason people get upset isn't due to the acts themselves. It's the complete lack of respect towards your fellow patrons.

Ignoring designated smoking areas is another prime example.

Music is annoying, most other things don't bother me if they're done with respect for the space/sensibilities of others.

Got paired with a clown a few weeks ago who, I swear, marked a three inch, yes three inch putt on the first hole...now THAT's annoying...and the putt was for an 8, by the way...
