Tiger Woods, Zach Johnson, Stewart Cink, and Rickie Fowler

The real question no one is asking is "Will Tiger bring a date/escort to the ceremonies along with the other wives? " Or will he go stag?" Inquiring minds want to know......



IMO they are solid picks, I for one see Tiger as an obvious pick now that his game is coming around, he is at least performing as the 12th best person in the US right now.

Zach Johnson=good pick

Fowler= who else are you going to pick really, maybe Holmes, AK would be my first choice but he has not recovered from the injury, who knows if he will have game by the time the Ryder Cup rolls around.

Cink, as others have said he is not having the best year, and his Ryder Cup record is not stellar, but who else do you pick? Glover?, O'Hair?, Boo?, Moore?, Watney? Really 6 of one....1/2 a dozen of the other....IMO.....

Let's hope the same thing from Zach Johnson. At Deutche Bank this week saw him throw one over his shoulder and then kick it with his foot before it hit the ground. And we all know Zach's a good guy. My point is that if every player had a camera on him on every shot we would see a lot more club throwing and F-bombing. Just my two cents.

Not sure about the Cink pick; he hasn't really stood out to me this year.

I like Fowler, and am glad to see him on the team. He has a good Walker cup record, and everyone has to start somewhere. If he is able to build on this year, the experience will serve him well in future events.

If it were really all just about star power, substitute Couples for Cink, and watch the ratings go through the roof.

Actually, I would have picked Couples in lieu of Cink. Freddie can bomb it when required and has been putting great this year. Add him to the team, and the chemistry changes completely for the better.

He may not be as good as he once was, but he's as good once as he ever was. And, could show these guys how to put it all together for a week when needed.

JB doesn't do a lot for me. Fowler, while a bit of a wild card, is great to have on the team. The youth have to get their chance sometime if there is ever going to be a future.

Cink has not impressed me this year, but other Ryder Cup level players have not played well either. Boo, AK, Cink, Glover...flip a coin between all of them this year.

Glover would not have been a good pick at all. Negative Nancy, is not really someone you want to play with.

The reason the selection process was changed was to give the captain the chance to take more of the "hottest" players at that time. I don't think these selections did that.

When you look at Americans, who aren't already qualified, and how they have played the last 4-6 weeks, nobody has been hotter than Ryan Palmer. He would have been a great selection as his style of play would seem to fit match play. He makes as many birdies as anyone on Tour and his blow-ups wouldn't be that costly in match-play.

Cink and Zach, well there's some points for the Euros. Fold and Fold quicker. Cink stinks in the pressure, about as intimidating as Big bird, and Zack will make 2 putts for par on the back for halves only to lose 2 and 1. Why not pick some one like Freddie? Or dare I say Watson?(Tom) I think he plays pretty good links golf and he would have nothing to lose. (Who would want to say they lost to the old guy?) Fowler is a good pick, as Azinger proved in 08 new is good too. I think they need to not only look at Champion's Tour guys but Nationwide as well, someone whose playing well and would handle the pressure.

I would make the following revisions to your proposed line up.

Start first session

[color="#0000ff"]Mickelson/Mahan [/color]As mentioned sold pair who play well together.

remember only 5 teams play the first four sessions.

No, I will not. I think Tiger as well as Zach, Rickie, and Cink will help the team out. Nowhere in there did I say anything negative about Tiger, other than I hope he takes out Europe's best player. IF he is playing bad, then resort to a method that'll definitely leave Europe down a man.

Although since they're being coached by Monte, I expect Europe already realizes the choking mentality may affect their on paper stellar team.
