EXPLANATION

Very simple. Could someone tell me what Jim Hardy describes as the correct motion for the hips in the golf swing? I understand that I need to maintain my tush line in the backswing and downswing. Currently there is a slight bump forward on the backswing (which i didn't notice until just recently) and a LARGE thrust forward on the downswing. I just watched a MATT KUCHAR swing analysis by Chris O'Connell and it was amazing how much improvement has been made. The entire idea of counter balancing the upper body makes sense, but it is difficult in practice. So many references to video #5 in the JH vault. Don't own... Can't find it or portions of it on youtube.

Think eccentric wheel - rear hip moves linearily targetwise while lead one rotates to the S-W (assuming you're facing N at address). Rear hip should never go closer to the ball watching DTL - hence great tush line maintenance and open hips at impact).
Although it is not 100% perfect (it should also underline that linear part concerns both joints and preceedes the rotary motion), it's the best description of pelvis area work in a rotary swing type I have ever found in the golf instruction. Say, OnePlane pearl.

Actually your right hip moves thru the tushline in the backswing - there are similaries to Mr. Hogans hipmovement...

Not exactly, Chris. The drawing you included reminds me more of Clement "Hogan drill" than what Hardy recommends, not mentioning real post-secret Hogan.
Unless this is only the backswing phase portraited until transition and without it.

Sure this is not exactly Mr. Hogan´s pivot but without transition there are similaries...

In the picture it would be the movement of Matt Kuchar´s pivot - I don´t know exacly what Mr. Hardy teaches -
but this looks identical to the hipmovement of Matt Kuchar...

OK, so we have what do you think you see in Kuchar's motion vs. Hardy's original words included in the Secret Vault DVD. Have you seen this DVD, Chris ?
And, BTW, what part of Kuchar's pelvis motion do you think the above drawing covers ?

I see this pelvis motion and the picture above the same....

I didn´t see the DVD, but I remember that Mr. Hardy says always he likes to see the players
to drop the height in the backswing - how can this happen if not with your pelvis motion...

LOL...that's I said in my first post directed to you "unless this is only the backswing phase portraited until transition and without it". Glad it did not appear you talk about transition.
When describing hip motion as an eccentric wheel, linear rear hip vs. rotary lead one I MEANT what happens during TRANSITION and how transition affects proper pelvis area downswing.

Last but not least, I suggest strongly to every serious golf student to watch #5 Series Vault DVD. As said - a little pearl.
