Lie Angle Picture Attached

I did a lie board test just to see if my angle was off. Looks like it is. I'm going to test some other clubs as well but this is the 6 iron of Ping S58. What way or what color would you suggest this set get's bent to?

Seems like the lie gets better as the numbers on the clubs go up?

The next set of pics look spot on. There's nothing wrong with mixing the lies to suit the set - one colour code for the set is not a hard and fast rule. The more upright lie of the longer irons probably helps to prevent left to right shots if that's your weakness. Of course, this all depends on the overall length and set up of your clubs - if you're happy with your ballflight, leave them as they are.

Those arent off by much, as a PP said the short irons look pretty spot on and the longer irons look like you could go to red dot, but as close as you are if you arent pulling the ball then I would probably leave "well enough" alone.

Get just your longer irons bent, or corrected.
Each club is probably off by a different amount.
Often the heads are one side of the spec or the other, which does not mean the entire set is out.

The best way is to review every club and make improvements from there.

This is why I checked the lie. I was pulling the ball with most clubs. I'm sure it has to do with some swing flaws as well. I picked up these clubs used from a fellow WRXer and just played them this year so really never had them checked out. Would it be wise to send them to Ping to get checked out? Cost is $18 per set and about $30 total in shipping both ways I believe.

I'm assuming a place like golf glaxay would charge for a iron fitting if i went to them? Just guessing here.

From the pics, it looks like all your marks on the trailing edge. Could the problem be that you are flipping your hands thru impact?

No way, a swing flaw..never....LOL....just kidding.....that is certainly something to think about. I never was a "divot" taker of any sort and i'm sure this impact has something to do with it. I also lie tested my G2's (back up clubs) same edge impact.....mmmmmm.....any idea's on how to fix impact on rear of the club?

All clubs have bounce on the sole, that is why the trailing edge looks like that, it is higher than the leading edge. I exercise caution when using a lie board because it doesn't accurately depict how your club is entering the turf. First of all, it sits above your feet and doesn't recreate the same action as the club striking grass. In my experience a little towards the heel from center is bang on.

Yes I hit the ball high with my irons. Very high no matter what shaft it seems like. I hit the ball lower with my driver and 3 wood.
I have played Ping ISI blue dot, G2 black dot and now these S58's black dot.
My index dropped this year from a 12.8 to a 10.8.
I have had about 9 lessions and mostly consentrated on grip and swing plane.
I ruff up the grass but never really take a divot after the ball.
As most amatures I use to loose the ball right, not a slice but a draw, thus the stronger grip was told to me.
I have ruled out right for the past 2 years but get a pull right when I miss now on my irons.
When I miss driver I get a pull hook. (right handed golfer)
If i finish higher on my irons i will get a fade with my irons.

In most cases, when marks occur on the traling edge, the golfer is "hanging back" on their "back foot" at impact...

Your 'body' is probably not leading, your "hanging back" and probably hitting the ball with your hands...

Go out and have some fun trying to move those marks more towards the leading edge...

Imagine when you're hitting a shot from an uphill lie, your goal is to start feeling what it is like to hit the "downhill lie" shot...

I would encourage you to discuss this with your instructor and seek their opinion regarding adjusting the lie of your clubs...

Thanks for the advise. I wonder why my driver typically i sa low shot. I get alot of roll and distance but the shot is typically a "low liner" I dont mind this ball flight but i'm sure it's not ideal. It is very penetrating and I out hit most of the gentlemen in our golf league.
